We have a very special girl looking for a home that will help her become the amazing dog we know she has the potential to be. Meet Amelia, a 1 year old, 40 pound Portuguese Water Dog/Poodle mix who came from a "breeder" who recently closed. Life as a breeder dog is not easy, especially at this particular place. Amelia did not have adequate care like grooming and expected feedings and clearly has not had many good experiences with humans. Despite that, Amelia is slowly but sur...ely learning that humans can have a kind hand, warm home, and open heart. After initially being afraid to be touched, she has learned to crave petting. She follows her foster mom around faithfully standing by, waiting for attention she so deserves. She is now fully potty trained and crate trained, takes treats ever so gently, and is a lovely, sweet girl. She has made significant progress in her foster home, but will need will need a patient, loving, peaceful home to help her achieve her true potential and continue progressing at her pace. A home with no small children, small dogs, or cats will be ideal to help her feel most comfortable. She has had no experience with children or cats, but we think she would benefit from a canine friend of similar size to keep her company and show her the ropes in her new home. Take a look at this darling little girl! Say hello to Buttercup, a 4 month old boxer mix who can't wait to find her forever home. Buttercup is a smart cookie and will make an excellent family companion. Take a look at her morning routine, for example; after waking up, she goes outside to go potty, sits on the kitchen rug while waiting for her food, and only gets up when given the word "release." What a smart girl for only being being 4 months old! She is crate trained, potty ...trained, and we can tell she has a ton of potential for future learning... perhaps a future obedience star or agility runner! Buttercup is a joyful girl who enjoys playing, especially playing fetch with her tennis ball, and can often be found with her toys. She is a people pleaser who likes to be right next to her person, regularly with her head or her paws right on her person's lap. Hi world, my name is Cooper! I am a 10 month old purebred Border Collie who is just the right size at 35 pounds. My foster mom tells me I am an awesome boy, I don't quite know what that means but I know that it gets me lots of pets and treats! She says I'm a very happy guy and always have my tail wagging. I have never met anyone I haven't liked; all people are good for belly rubs and all dogs are good for playing with. I even met a baby- it was sorta weird but quite interesti...ng to watch! These things called cars are fun too, especially when the breeze runs through my fur! Border Collies are known to be high energy, but I really don't fit that description. I'm pretty laid back most of the time. If I need something, I'll let you know by gently placing my paw on your lap. I like to be near your side to be sure you are safe and am a very devoted and eager to please dog. Just give me some toys to play with and a person to love, and I'll be set. I've been working on my manners; I walk well on a leash, am crate trained (with some time to get used to it of course), sit nicely for my feet to be wiped when it's wet out, and know not to bark in the house. I even know sit, come, leave it, wait, and no. As you can tell, I'm a very smart boy and have a lot of potential for fun things like obedience, agility, or maybe even something like dock diving or frisbee. I was born to be a working dog and have only been in a house for the past few weeks in my foster home- potty training is new for me and I will need someone who is diligent and patient so I can learn what that means in your home.
