In Vision Eye Care Center 24.05.2021

UPDATE: My team and I got our second Moderna vaccine last week thanks to D&H Drug in Columbia!! Little more side effects with the second dose (minor fever, chills, body aches) but all were to be expected. None lasted more than about a day. So happy we were able to get this done in order to stay healthy and keep our patients safe!! Please stay vigilant, continue wearing masks and social distancing when necessary. Hopefully we’ll soon be getting back to normal! -HW

This is the brain trauma physician I often work with for the neuro-optometry portion of my practice. No I don’t get to see athletes but I get to make a difference in the lives of concussion-sufferers, stroke patients, and even brain tumor survivors! I love that I’ve been able to help Dr. Wolf in a small way in Columbia! Go Chiefs!!

Some patients have asked me about how to get themselves on the vaccine list. The post below has info and links. Stay healthy everyone!! Staff and I are all doing good post-vaccinations with sore arm/injection site being the main side effect. -HW

Thanking all of those that are or have served! You are the ones willing to stand on the frontlines so we can stay safe at home. This is my dad just before being deployed to Vietnam. Thank you all!

Since these never caught on and EVERYONE is struggling with their glasses fogging up, we’ve added something new to our office... FogBlocker Wipes!!! These are available as a microfiber, dry cloth or as a pack of 30 individual wet wipes. Dry cloth is good for 500 uses and each use should keep your glasses fog-free for 48-72hrs. The wet wipes are individual-use but each use lasts up to 48hrs. Both are in stock at In Vision now for only $15 each and can be purchased thru our curbside care. Please call to make sure we are available, as our hours have temporarily changed due to COVID-19 quarantines. 573-874-EYES (3937)

Wanted to let everyone know that I’m working with the Boone Co HD to contact everyone who was exposed to my employee who tested positive. If you don’t hear from me, then you were not exposed. I will be contacting patients throughout the day today and tomorrow to personally notify everyone. Thanks for your cooperation! -HW

COVID Update: we have recently had an employee test positive. She notified me as soon as she knew she was exposed and extra precautions were immediately taken. We will be closing for the next 3 days to deep clean our office. Please know that we are taking every necessary precaution. Later this week we will be able to have patients come by to pick up contacts, glasses, etc. We now have 2 Curbside Care parking spots designated where you can park and one of our employees can bring items out to you. We will utilize these as much as possible. In addition, we will no longer be allowing any patients to walk in without an appointment. Please be patient with us through these changes and extra precautions. Thank you!

I want to thank everyone for your patience during this time of us trying to get caught up after being closed for 7wks during COVID!! We are booking out about 8wks for full exams, which I know can be frustrating. I wish we could get everyone in sooner but we are trying to be as safe and diligent as possible. For those of you who have waited to see Dr. Renner or myself, please know that I am unbelievably grateful for your patience! While waiting for you appointment we... are still extending CL prescriptions and allowing patients to buy more boxes or get more trials as needed to get you by. Please don’t stretch out your lenses because we are so booked up!! We are also still offering Curbside Care as well and if you call when you arrive we can bring your glasses, contacts, or paperwork out to you! Soon we will have our signs up with designated parking spots for our Curbside Care. Stay healthy and safe! And thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting my local, family-owned business!! -HW

With COVID peaking this week, I strongly urge you to stay home or wear a mask and gloves, should you come to one of my materials dispensings this week. I will either be in the office tomorrow or Wednesday to address contact lens order requests, so please be by the phone if you have emailed or left a voicemail so I can reach you. We are still doing all that we can to prevent the spread of this disease. Thank you for your understanding.

To all my patients: the CDC has recently recommended that all routine dental and eye care be suspended at this time. With a heavy heart and a knot in my stomach, I have decided to follow their guidelines and will be closing on Friday, March 20. Hopefully we will be able to resume normal business hours Monday, April 6. I will be going Live on FB tomorrow at 3:30pm to discuss this closing and how COVID can be transmitted through your eyes and tears. If you have any questio...ns plz lmk and I will address them at that time. My main concern is doing everything in my power to ensure the health of my staff and my patients. I also want to send a thank you out to all the doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, and support staff who are on the front lines of this crisis. We all owe you a great debt of gratitude for everything you do. A sincere thank you to all of my patients for your continued support during this difficult time. Stay safe and healthy. -Heather

Our number one priority is the health and safety of our patients. With that being said, if you are feeling sick or slightly under the weather, please call and reschedule your upcoming appointments.
