Building the necessary perseverance and resiliency as a business owner is not something you can be ready for, you just have to be in it. - Just like I had to *be* in each moment, each step, each breath in the long, slow climb to the summit of Mt. Rinjani I wasn’t prepared for this hike at all, even though I thought I was. I met a gal in New Zealand who I later found out was in Bali the same time as me so she asked me to island hop and hike with her. We hiked to the base ca...mp on the first day. The next morning when rising to summit, she realized she didn’t have the appropriate footwear and had to stay at camp while I summited. - I’ve never wanted to give up so badly while still being the most determined to accomplish something I had not even fathomed. Rise: 1:45am Start: 2:05 Hiked for nearly 5 hours before reaching the top, trudging through volcanic sediment the entire way, nothing but a headlamp and a long sleeve shirt. - You truly don’t know what you are capable of until you choose to continually push yourself. - I said pain is only temporary or pain is weakness leaving the body nearly 1,000 times on the way to the top. A beautiful reminder that everything is temporary. Beautifully wonderful or terribly painful, all emotions associated with these human experiences is worthy of our presence. - We learn so much when we are mindful of what is right in front of us. - The expansion in resilience I’ve endured in this process of expanding in my personal evolution and in my business has incredibly humbling for my ego.
