Today is National Vietnam War Veterans Day. On this date in 1973, the U.S. Military Assistance Command, Vietnam, disestablished. Vietnam War Veterans Day’s main objectives include: highlighting the contributions of all organizations to the war effort, honoring Americans’ contributions on the home front, emphasizing scientific and technological advancements, and recognizing our allies’ contributions. Of the five commemoration objectives, the most important is honoring the service of Vietnam Veterans and their families, including those who were prisoners of war or missing in action. St. Patrick’s Day was a blast! Best party we’ve had in a year! Residents enjoyed Happy Hour, Black-eyed peas and Music! Gino the Music RX and son Christopher Rocked the house for our dance party!

So grateful to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City for blessing our residents with treats and gifts for Valentine’s Day!

We had so much fun today at our Back-to-School Bash for our employees! We had lunch and gave away backpacks filled with supplies! Big thank you to our staff for all you do! We truly appreciate you!

We celebrated July 4th today with Music, watermelon and happy hour. All socially distanced of course! Happy Independence Day from our house to yours!

The battle is all around me! It's beautiful! I think Independence is winning, but I'm not sure...

We celebrated Memorial Day with good old American hot dogs off the grill! We also cooked out during National Nursing Home Week!

Thursday, National Nursing Home week: Hallway Bingo! Snacks and prizes on the 500 hall. We had several winners win multiple times! Our residents LOVE their Bingo, they also enjoy prizes that smell good.

Tuesday, National nursing home week: "Hippie Day" A few of us dressed in vintage attire and rocked our "Covid hair" a little! We played Hallway Bingo in the 300 hall with snacks and Prizes! Our residents LOVE fragrant stuff!

Big thank you to our regional team for this awesome super hero parade! Our staff and residents had so much fun watching!

Monday, National Nursing Home week: Western Day! Today we held a Gunsmoke watch party. "The Wreckers" an episode from 1967. Residents watched in their rooms and answered printed questions about the show. While activities staff passed out home made chili room by room to snack on!

Day 1 of National Nursing Home Week, Happy Mother's Day! Room by room, a red rose for each of our resident mothers and cupcakes for all our ladies today! Our Chapel hand-out, The Proverbs 31 Woman. We also distributed a number of flowers arrangements and gifts from family members!
