During these uncertain times we must continue to educate our members while keeping our staff and students safe. We are pleased to announce our first online night class! With a collaboration of local and national experts, Matthew Militzer has created an online Foremanship Concepts class. This will be available to Local 1 members and NECA signatory contractor employees. Here is the description for the new class: Foreman Concepts Online is the same course that has been offe...red through Local 1 for the last 5 years and the taught by the International offices the last 15 years, except now it is also an online platform. Students will join the instructor in-person the first night of class at the Training Center to create logins and learn to navigate system. The remaining 8 weeks will be online through Microsoft Teams. This course offers insights to key components of being a foreman, including trust, integrity, safety, leadership, and blueprint reading. There are four personal training exercises designed to recreate the feeling of being a red-dot foreman, and provides the student with tools to navigate the challenges that arise on a job-site on a daily basis. There are three guest speakers participating in the class. They will give their perspectives on foremanship, which will help foremen know and understand all the different roles involved in creating a successful project. Although the course is offered online, it is still an interactive experience with the instructor, while allowing the class participants to work at their own pace from the safety of their own home. After 9 weeks students will have gained the knowledge and confidence needed to successfully lead a crew. This class is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at 4:30 p.m. Please visit our website to sign up for this exciting new class: https://stlejatc.org/wfapp.php?ACTION=HomePage You can also call the office at 314-644-3587 to register. The size of the class is limited to only 15 people so reserve your spot today! See more
