It is with profound sadness that I write to inform you of the line of duty death of Kansas City Fire Department Fire Captain and IAFF Local 42 Member Bobby Roch...a. Bobby fell ill and was diagnosed with COVID-19. Brother Rocha fought valiantly against this virus and his fight was a testament to his strength as a person. Brother Rocha was a friend and inspiration to many and his passing comes with great grief. At this time the Local will be providing the family with support in their time of need. We will post additional information and service arrangements as soon as they become available. In this difficult time please do not hesitate to contact any of your Brothers and Sisters to talk or seek assistance from 42 Cares while dealing with this tragic event. Please continue to keep our KCFD and Local 42 family and the family and friends of Brother Rocha in your thoughts and prayers.

We stress the importance of smoke alarms and having an escape plan. Last night this smoke alarm woke up an individual and allowed him to escape his house. In this condition, the smoke alarm was still sounding. Smoke alarms save lives.
A closed door can make a 900 degree temperature difference! #fireprevention

After 18 years, the tremendous loss of 343 FDNY members on September 11, 2001, still affects us every day. The sacrifices made will never be forgotten.

What an amazing day yesterday was; Joining forces with the amaizng little Brecken Simmons and his wonderful family, to meeting all of his supporters and "Brecke...n's Team" members! The Lemonde Stand was a hit, Brecken and his army raised more than $5,000 for our nonprofit, which is just incredible! Scott and Patti Moran Simmons, you are raising two amazing young men who are already bettering their communities! Can't thank Cjc Fire Station 3 and the Blue Springs Police Department for coming out and showing off their vehicles and always supporing ATC! The awesome Crown Town Cruiser was a hit too and always so supportive of Brecken and our First Responder Community! Thank you Craig and Lorie Rookstool, your giving hearts make our community a better place! If you came out to see us yesterday, thank you so much for believing in our mission, supporting our KC Frist Responder Community and proving that Brecken is a force of good in Kansas City. Brecken spreads joy everywhere he goes and we love that ATC is part of his "Team"!

CJCares is a program that helps put CJC residents in touch with resources to fulfill needs sometimes missed by conventional health care. Those resources come in... all forms and today, Two Men and a Truck helped one local resident change medical beds by moving one out and the other in. Both beds were donated by the Franciscan Mission in Independence. CJC greatly appreciated these and other resource partnerships needed to make our resident quality of life as good as we can. See more
