Once again the snowy weather has struck. The Columbia HuHot will be closed for the remainder of today (Wednesday 2/17/21). Staff should stay home and stay safe.

HuHot is CLOSED today (Monday 2/15/21). The roads are a mess and wind chills are 20-30 below zero with possibly more snow expected. Staff should stay home and stay safe.

With the extremely cold temperature and the deteriorating road conditions, we are closing early today (Sunday, 12/14/21). We apologize for any inconvenience.

Due to the winter storm warning overnight tonight and tomorrow calling for snow, sleet and significant icing we will be closed tomorrow (Friday 1/1/21). The safety of our staff is our first priority. We apologize for any inconvenience or inaccurate weather forecasts.

The Columbia HuHot will be closing at 3pm on Christmas Eve and be closed all day on Christmas Day so that our employees can enjoy the holiday. New Year's Eve and New Year's Day we will be open our regular hours 11am to 8pm.

To honor our Veterans and active duty military, grill meals will be free with proof of service this Veterans day Wednesday 11/11/20. Thank you for your service and sacrifice! Please share this post to help get the word out.

We are reopening today (Tuesday 8/25/20). The restaurant has been freshly fumigated and sanitized (freshly fumigated?). We will only be able to offer limited seating, even more limited than normal the new normal, as a significant portion of our service staff is in quarantine or awaiting test results. There is likely to be a wait during peak times, so take advantage of our call ahead seating option (573-874-2000). The one staff member that tested positive is not feeling great, but her symptoms appear to be fairly mild. The health department is aware of everything and is on board with our reopening. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The Columbia HUHOT will be CLOSED for a minimum of three days due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19. This employee had unmasked close contact with other staff outside of work. We hope to reopen on Tuesday 8/25.

HuHot will be closing early at 3pm this 4th of July for the holiday.

We have tweaked our systems and procedures to the point where we are confident that we can take care of our dining room guests and once again offer delivery. We are still only seating at 50% of capacity due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation. It is recommended during peak lunch and dinner hours to call ahead to see if there is a wait for tables, and if so, get your name on the wait list. Delivery is available from our partners at Uber Eats and Grubhub.

We survived our first few days. There were some hiccups and rough spots but we hope we are ironing those out. Just to clarify a few things. Every meal is being built as a two bowl meal and you should list your sauce blend accordingly. If you want a smaller meal please indicate so on your order form and we will only use one bowl. We are limited to 50% dining capacity by the health department, it is not our choice.. However, with the restrictions put on how we must operate (building every bowl ourselves), we will struggle to take care of any more guests than that and prepare their food in a timely manner.

We are open again with limited dine-in seating. We are now offering call ahead seating. Call up to one hour prior to your visit to get your name on the wait list (if there is one). We are not taking reservations for future dates. Our temporary new hours are 11am to 8pm seven days a week.

The Columbia HuHot is opening for dine-in business tomorrow, Tuesday May 26, 2020. Due to health department requirements, eating at HuHot is going to look and feel quite different. Your server will hand you a form to fill out and our staff of dedicated bowl builders will build your bowl and hand it off to the cooks. Your cooked meal will then be delivered back to your table by your server. Because HuHot will remain all-you-can-eat, leftover grill meals will still not be allow...ed to be take home. If you wish to do a carryout meal, we will be happy to accommodate you. Of course, you are welcome to take home leftover appetizers and desserts. We are currently limited by the health department to 50% of our dining room capacity. We cannot exceed that number and may restrict it below that. This is completely new to us and is certain to negatively impact our efficiency. We will only seat as many tables as we can provide an acceptable level of service to. We will now be accepting call ahead seating. If there is a wait list, we will put you on the wait list when we receive your call. Waiting for tables is not allowed inside the building. We have a tentative reopen date! Tuesday 5/26/20. The health department will allow us to reopen under a modified format. If you have ever eaten at a sushi restaurant it will be very familiar. Guests will fill out a form with what they want in their meal and dedicated "bowl builders" will build their meals then hand them off to the cooks. Your server will then deliver the cooked meal to you at your table. Desserts and appetizers will still come out of the kitchen. We will post again with to confirm the reopening date before it gets here. Stay tuned and spread the word.

The City of Columbia and Boone County announced on Thursday 4/29 that restaurant dining rooms could reopen as long as social distancing guidelines are followed and with limited seating. Unfortunately, self-serve or buffet style restaurants are not allowed to reopen their dining rooms. We will be working with the health department to see if or how we can adjust our procedures to overcome this. Stay tuned.

To protect our staff from any further chance of exposure at work we have decided to close for business until this crisis passes. Our dining concept doesn't easily lend itself to call ahead carryout and we don't have a drive-thru. We will see you again when this is all over. Once again the Columbia HuHot is CLOSED until further notice.

Come get your HuHot stir-fry fix while you still can. We remain open for the time being, albeit with reduced seating. Extra sanitation measures are in place to protect both our staff and guests. Remember carryout is available and delivery from both GrubHub and Uber Eats.
