Keep area clean, swept, and organized at all times Assist as needed to offload and receive incoming delivery trucks Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management Minimum Qualifications: Forklift experience is a plus but not mandatory. POSITION SUMMARY This position’s duties include but are not limited to cleaning and disinfecting common areas in the Jail; sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors, taking out the trash and recyclables, and keeping all entry ways clean. May also be required to run a floor buffer and scrubbers. Must be able to be in and around cleaning chemicals used in disinfecting the facilities. Additional duties may include maintenance and general labor. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES... Assist in maintaining jail in optimal condition. Maintain familiarity with and adhere to county and job specific policies and procedures Display flexibility and a willingness to accommodate unexpected tasks and conditions Appropriately and safely operate all equipment and machinery as necessary Utilize appropriate safety and personal protective gear where appropriate Communicate effectively with employees and officials of the county and community Perform preventive maintenance, repair and assigned tasks related to: o General repairs such as painting, patching walls, hanging shelves and landscaping. Maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in all maintenance and repair projects. Performs related work as required. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS Experience in custodial service is required Valid Missouri Driver’s License; safe driving record; and proof of insurability. Education / Licensure: High School diploma or equivalent KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions involved with the maintenance, repair, and operation of buildings, grounds, and operating systems; Ability to effectively interact with staff, tenants, department heads and officials, and the public; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, as required by the position. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Successful candidate must pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
