Joyce Thomure Memorial Service July 16, 2020 Hornet Christian Church On Thursday, July 9 2020, one of God’s precious children laid down her worn out body and went to be home with Jesus.... Joyce Thomure was born in Louisiana, Missouri on December 17, 1944 to J.C. and Alice Robey Momphard. She grew up in Silex, Missouri and graduated from Silex High School. In 1963 she was married to Ron Thomure of Defiance, Missouri. Their union was blessed with two sons, Michael and Kenneth, who both reside in Joplin, Missouri. The family lived in St. Charles County until 1979 when they moved to Joplin, Missouri so her husband could attend Ozark Bible College. Through the years she worked at many jobs beginning with sewing piece work at a garment factory. At one time she was the secretary to the Director of Admissions at Ozark Christian College and later she was the secretary to the Dean of Humanities at Tarkio College at Tarkio, Missouri. As a preacher’s wife, she did everything from being a church secretary to being a dorm mom at camp. But she was best at being a wife and mother. Her soft voice and smile will be missed. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and sister Alice Meyer and nephew Jeff Meyer. She is survived by her husband Ron and two sons Michael and Kenneth, brother William Momphard, four grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She also has a great tribe of special niece and nephews whom she loved dearly. A memorial service will be held at Hornet Christian Church on Thursday, July 16 at 7:00 p.m. See more

The Seneca Ministerial Alliance is hosting a Community Trunk or Treat on Sunday, October 27th from 4-6pm @First Baptist Church across from the Junior High. This is a completely FREE event with lots of candy, games, and food!! Bring your kids dressed in their costumes to participate in this awesome event!!
