Remembering Dr. William Danforth - Dr. Danforth was passionate about medical research. He and the trustees of the Danforth Foundation were instrumental in establishing the Danforth Challenge for Neurological Disorders at the Hope Center through a generous matching gift. We feel a great sense of sadness and our heartfelt condolences go out to the Danforth Family.

Great news from the Hope Center - Tim Miller, MD, who is one of the nation’s foremost researchers on ALS, developed an experimental drug (tofersen) for a form of genetic ALS that is now moving into a Phase 3 clinical trial. Phase 3 is designed to further evaluate the safety and efficiency of the new drug. As many of you know, Dr. Miller is the director of the Christopher Wells Hobler Laboratory for ALS Research at the Hope Center, and he received our Spirit of Hope Award in 2018. Congratulations, Dr. Miller!

Hope Happens was founded on the premise of collaborationwe believe a discovery in one neurological disease is likely to lead to a discovery in another. That’s why we collaborated with the Hope Center in 2004, whose labs study a range of nervous system diseases. And today, Give STL Day, we want to collaborate with YOU to accelerate groundbreaking research and give HOPE to those suffering from the effects of a neurological disease. https://www.givestlday.org/hopehappens

#GiveSTLDay is tomorrow, but you can donate to the Hope Happens campaign early! Your gift supports the invaluable researchers at the Hope Center, who are making advancements every day in finding treatments and cures for many neurological disorders. Take Dr. Gutmann, whose lab recently found a way to decrease the size of brain tumors in mice with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1). Or Dr. Davis, whose lab is targeting a gene that may slow the progression of dementia in people with Parkinson’s disease. Your donation helps accelerate these and other studies to find better treatments and therapies for neurological disorders. Donate today. https://bit.ly/2W7qJPq
