Nora donated 7 large plastic tubs of Breyer Collectable Horses. Am putting them up for sale at this site: https://www.facebook.com/groups/470615649659273 If you are looking to start a child on collecting or collect yourself, there are some great horses in this lot. Am posting them as I unpack them and identify them and their value.

An overdue Thank You to Melody who picked up our food from the food bank and drove it out to the farm for us while Tim and I were at Mizzou getting our COVID vxs. Thanks for always being there for all these fuzzy kids. On the adoption front, the little terrier, Matilda goes to her new home on Wednesday. Sunflower, the momma cat to our last litter of kittens, found her forever home with Cody, a charming med student. I can't imagine a better home for either of these kids. ...Kiona (Bear), one of the girls from the St. Bernard litter, was returned to us today. Mom's life took an unexpected turn and she thought it would be best to rehome her. She is scheduled to be spayed on the 6th and will be ready for her forever home after that. Spring is just around the corner so we are bracing for the onslaught of kittens and puppies. With all of us getting vaccinated, we are starting to let folks volunteer again at the farm. There are dogs to walk, cats to brush, yards to clean...the list is endless. Give Tim at call if you have some time to give 314-766-8336. You must be fully vaccinated to volunteer at the farm.

Saw two more of the girls from the St. Bernard litter today. Little Maggie (Alexis) is not so little anymore weighing in at 59.4#s. Not uncommon for the runt to catch up with the other kids in their own time. Surprising that Allie (Alice) is only 43.7#s. Guess she got more of the miniature poodle mixed in with the curly hair. They are both adorable!!

Just got the mail and a $2,500 donation from Emerson via Geoff and Wendy was waiting for me. Thanks for always thinking of all the kids out here. We have the spays/neuters on the St. Bernard litter coming up so this should more than help cover those costs.

Saw 2 of the girls from the St. Bernard litter today; Phoebe (aka Polly) and Charlie (Aka Aspen). Both were spayed today and Phoebe weighed in at 51.6#s and Charlie at 53.4#s. Keep in mind that these kids are 5 months old. I say these girls will top out at around 80, but the weight calculators online say 110#. Time will tell. They are both very sweet and loving.

Hello friends! We are excited to announce that we have a charming Valentine’s Day raffle in store this year. Margie, who is a friend and supporter of many local animal rescues, has graciously donated two wonderful gift baskets - one of which is St. Louis Cardinals themed and the other is St. Louis Blues themed. Both contain an official MLB/NHL team teddy bear, a 30X34 hand-knitted receiving blanket and a 36X40 hand-quilted receiving blanket. If you or someone you know are e...xpecting a new little valentine, these would make wonderful shower gifts! Here’s how it works: Each entry costs $10 (or five entries for $40) You can purchase through Venmo, PayPal, or through the Donate button on Facebook (or by sending a check to the rescue) You will need to specify which basket for your entries AND provide your contact information Drawing will be held on Valentine’s Day The winners will be announced on our Facebook and Instagram pages All proceeds go towards the maintenance and care of all the fur kids out on the farm Thank you as always for your support and please reach out if you have any questions at all!

The Daily Dose: PSA for the day...

Hootie's Rescue Haven 10.12.2020

The Daily Dose: So, this little kid came in last night. She is about 12 weeks old. Looks to be a catahoula mix? Granddaughter brought the puppy home and they just cannot afford to keep it right now. Her name is Ginger. Starting to vet her up today. Will get better pics this weekend when I have more time.

The Daily Dose: Yesterday was one of those days that you carry with you. I dropped off one of our kittens after her spay to her mom, Jiameng. Mom presented us with a wonderful piece of her own artwork that is dedicated to Hootie's. She donated some litter, dog food and signed up for our monthly donation program. It is so wonderful to know that Daisy brings her mom so much joy and that Daisy has found an amazing forever home. Makes up for all those days when you wonder if anything you can do helps at all. Thank you, Jiameng, for giving us affirmation that we are on the right track.

The Daily Dose: A HUGE Thank You to Dave and Vicki at Appplied Mechanical Solutions. Not only do they make a quarterly donation to Hootie's, but when my mom's heat went out last week they were fast, efficient and reasonably priced for the time it took to figure out a complicated electrical problem. Thanks again for helping out in so many ways. If you are in need of heating and cooling work, please consider hiring someone who is also community minded.... The Daily Dose: Wanna says thanks to Julie & Ryan who helped pick up our monthly food allotment from the food bank and drove it out to the farm. Many hands make the work easier. They also brought yummy cookies so win, win!! Saw the last of the Saint litter yesterday, Kiona (aka Bear) & Harvey (aka Buster). Will spay the girls in March, so will have more pics then.
