S.O.S!! Calling on all you wonderful, seasoned homeschool mamas! Life is upside down for many in our world right now regarding so many things, and schooling is on everyone’s mind. ... We have continued to see large numbers of people coming in to us who are: 1. Considering homeschooling. 2. Taking the plunge. 3. Making preparatory steps and backup plans, based on what happens next. Some are planning for the long-term, some for the short-term. But they ALL have questions, and LOTS of them. Here’s where you come in: We are hoping to find a few of you with a fair/good amount of experience and knowledge of various homeschooling methods, curricula, styles, and philosophies, who also enjoy talking to others, sharing your experience, and answering questions. We don’t know how temporary or permanent the position/positions might be. (Because none of us really know a lot right now..) Compensation could be either temporary pay or store credit...Several days a week for one, or one day a week for several individuals... We are open to options, and just trying to find a way to meet the needs of so many who have been thrown in at the deep end and are trying to keep afloat! So! Let us know if this sounds like something any of you would have a heart to do for a while...you can message us or drop in and talk to us... Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Ok. Take two: Because of the volume of messages and calls we had been receiving the last couple of days from people asking questions about mask requirements, including more than one with fears of being discriminated against and refused entrance because of a health condition preventing mask wearing, we decided to make a post this morning outlining what the city ordinance says. We deleted it because the post was becoming a place to argue, and we didn’t think that was useful. ... We will try again: In short: 1. As business owners, our intention is to comply with personal mask-wearing, according to the conditions of the ordinance. 2. We also want to give assurance that we will not violate HIPAA laws by pushing for personal medical information or refuse entrance to someone under that umbrellaa provision and protection also outlined in the city ordinance. 3. Your children are your responsibility, and if under twelve, are not required by the mandate to wear a mask. We leave that to you. We will not take away or add on top of what the city ordinance states. 4. We will again be offering call in orders and curbside pick up for those not comfortable coming into the store. We didn’t realize that outlining what the city had already said would prompt the response that it did. We do want for our customers to understand the ordinance, and know that we are attempting to give it full and fair treatment. So we are posting this once again, and are asking that everyone refrain from adding comments of any kind on this post. Any comments of concern, hate, or support you feel need to be made can be made directly to us by phone, text, or personal fb message. Any comments made on this thread will be deleted. Thank you.

Just a reminder that our dates for receiving consignments are the 12th through the end of every month. This doesn’t mean that there is no new inventory during these timesWe use these few days each month to catch up with the excess that we cannot keep up with during receiving times! We have mounds of new inventory going out daily, so if you have a list of books you will be needing for next school year, check and see if we have what you need!

Many of you may not know about our Scholarship Fund, so we decided to make a post about it. Since the very beginning of starting The Pilgrim’s Way, it was important to us that it would be a ministry as much as it was a business. One of the things that we set up right away was a Scholarship Ministry Fund that would be available for situations of need as they arose or came to our attention. We have been able to see this fund grow, and have been blessed to see thousands of dol...lars used to meet needs within our homeschool community. House fires/ loss of spouse (by death or abandonment)/ ongoing extreme medical issues and expenses/ loss of job, livelihood/single grandmas raising and homeschooling grandchildren on a small tight income... these are just a few of the many situations and families that we have seen our Scholarship Fund provide needed materials for over the years. Although finances are often tight for many of us, and we may have to juggle and make choices about what we can afford unexpected, extreme and unusual tragedies and trials of all sorts have a way of presenting themselves over the course of time. In light of recent events, we are aware that there may be many more out-of-the-ordinary needs that have arisen. If your family has experienced a sudden loss of job/income, and fallen through the cracks of not receiving assistance to compensate, If your family has lost a business/livelihood because of the shutdowns, And If you are in need of school materials for your children that you cannot afford right now, please let us know, so that we can help.
