Condensation is a Hidden Killer. If you're currently suffering a #poweroutage & freezing temps, unplug all of your electronic devices. Once the power comes on, ...wait until your home or business's heat has been running for an hour or more before plugging your devices back in. This will prevent condensation from frying the circuitry. A #PSA from The Older Geeks. See more

Just a reminder: We are not a business operated by some corporation in a far away place. We live here and we've operated this business for 21 years. We love our customers and our town and would do anything to protect them. This includes denying access to our store without a mask. Will it cost us money? It has cost us dearly already. Will we let this change our mind? Absolutely not.

So this is going to be long-winded, but this post is in response to a post encouraging people to end business with my parents' computer store, Home Computer Rep...air. Both of my parents have been very vocal regarding the importance of mask-wearing for months, and now, they are angry. If you are friends with my parents, my dad, especially, you'll see the anger in his posts. He is grieving. My family is grieving. "Instead of passing judgment, think, instead, on what could have led to these comments. My family is grieving. My dad is watching my mom grieve. My great aunt died alone in a hosptial in April from ovarian cancer, and a few family members were able to attend her drive-by funeral (which means we're still in denial about her death because we haven't gotten together to honor her life). My grandma suffered a major stroke back in November, and she hasn't had any therapies at MV Place due to the pandemic. At this time in March, we saw drastic improvement, but after months of isolation, she is confused, in her own world, and she is just as bad as she was the night of the stroke, all recovery gone. You likely have not heard of the outbreaks at MV Place, but there is only one safe hallway left, and each day the number of "safe residents" grow smaller and smaller. I do not blame the staff; they wear masks, but masks are hopeless unless everyone wears one (other than a tiny population who can't) so the staff are unintentionally infecting the residents. My parents are business owners. If they get infected, they have to quarantine, and their computer business would likely not survive, especially with an extended leave like hospitalization. Many of their customers wear masks, but some do not, which confuses my parents and puts them at risk. Even customers who have been loyal for two decades walk in without masks on. Instead of being angry at these comments, be angry at the situation that led to them. If my parents get it, my grandpa gets it. He's still recovering from a massive heart attack on Christmas Eve. I don't want to start an argument. I live in a place that requires masks, and our numbers and hospitalizations remain manageable. Please think about where my dad's comments are coming from. He's confused, frustrated, sad, and angry. I know we're not the only family grieving, so surely some of you understand where this is coming from." See more
