For over 200 years, the United States has been guided by the principles set down in the Constitution. When students become adults, they will have the opportunity to participate in the nations’ decision-making process as a citizen, a voter, possible as a government employee, or perhaps even as an officeholder. How well they understand the princes by which the United States is governed will determine how well they participate as a citizen of this great nation. Interactive Notebook: Untied State Government and Interactive Notebook: U.S. Constitution for grades 5-8 is a great resource for teachers and parents to introduce how our government works and why.
