Every April, Catholic parishes and schools across the United States participate in National Child Abuse Prevention Month. While dioceses work year-round to prevent abuse, during this month a special emphasis is placed on the importance of learning how to protect the vulnerable from this evil. Together, for nine days, let’s pray that the vulnerable are protected from abuse, and that survivors of abuse may be accompanied on their paths to healing!
The Rectory has a new deck! Parishioner Patricio Mendoza, Jr., who is a candidate to receive his Eagle Scout rank recently completed his Eagle Scout project for the parish, with the help of other Eagle Scout candidates from his scout troop #1447. Patricio and his fellow scouts did an awesome job on rebuilding the deck. Patricio presented his project to the Facilities Committee for approval, raised funds to pay for the project and rebuilt the deck. A big thank you to Patricio and his fellow scouts for a job well done!

Every Sunday during the online Mass, Father Phil mentions the generosity of Holy Family’s parishioners and how the sharing of your financial gifts allows for Holy Family to reach beyond its walls and serve those in our community. This year’s Giving Tree program was a testament to that generosity and to our ability to reach outside our walls to help many in our community! Thank you is not enough to express Holy Family's gratitude for your generosity during a time when everyone is struggling! Read below to see just how much of an impact your generosity made!

In the past, Holy Family’s Knights of Columbus led the praying of the rosary with our parishioners on the 5th Sunday of any month with five Sundays. The Knights are going to reinstitute the Rosary, beginning on Sunday, November 29, at 9:30 a.m., in the parish hall! The praying of the Rosary is open to all parishioners and social distancing will be followed. If you have any questions, please contact the parish office.

The Knights of Columbus have 4 Mary statues that they are selling for $100 each. They are made by a local artist, during the molding process he inserts a Miraculous Medal as well as a vial of Holy Water into each Mary Statue! 25% of the proceeds are given back to the local artist. Contact Grand Knight Charlie Ray if interested - [email protected].
Let us pray during this new year, not so much for God to take away hard times, but that he might use us as instruments of peace for others during hard times.

When you're grabbing new coats for the winter, consider getting an extra one for the Coats for Kids drive at Holy Family! A new coat is such a luxury, one many can't afford but desperately need as it gets colder in KC. Keep an eye out for the barrels located around the building or donate funds that go to purchase new coats for kids in need!
