Happy New Year! HUGE snowflakes!

Holistic Horsemanship Institute of America 30.12.2020

Often, horses who need a little extra help cross my path. Koda needs a new home because his owner is moving to the densely populated East Coast. He is 15 years old and does have navicular syndrome. It's still pretty mild and well managed. Those of you who know my own horse, Red Ranger, know that horses can live long and happy lives with navicular. She was diagnosed with it at age 19 and is now 32 and still riding. Koda has a slight limp on his right front from it, but that wo...uld likely loosen up with bodywork, just like Red's did. Koda would really benefit from being rehomed among my clients/contacts so that I can assist in his long term care. Below are his sale details and a link to a video: Dam: Abserokee's April Gem (ApHC#573652) Sire: C Ima Shado Two (ApHC #479646) Color: Sorel with blanket (snowflakes have roaned out as he's aged) Age: 15 (born 5/4/05) Height: 15.2hh Location: Clarksville, MO Asking Price: $1300 About: Koda is a flashy, kind soul looking for a new home! He is a great trail horse. He has been taken through the Clinton Anderson Fundamentals training and has great groundwork skills (lunging, backing, sidepass, etc). He is broke for an intermediate to advanced rider, or a beginner under supervision. Walk, trot, canter under saddle. Can also side pass! Koda is not spooky and has an even tempered disposition. He is easy to teach and could be turned into a pleasure horse with a little work. Maybe a little showing is in his future! Koda is a very willing partner with someone who has good horse leadership skills. He is eager to please and can be quite affectionate. Koda was diagnosed with navicular syndrome in 2018. After 1 shot of Osphos, it has been managed with Equioxx (anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen) and he is otherwise sound. For the last 2 years on the medication, he has been lightly ridden with no lameness issues. His current cost of treatment is $43 a month. He has many good years left on him! His asking price reflects the navicular diagnosis. Willing to throw in a 15" saddle if you are interested. Please contact me with any questions you may have! @jenburks11 https://youtu.be/N-O3COZ1qxk

Because when you are a 31-year-old retired police horse, you deserve love from a 5-year-old, while laying down in the afternoon sun.

We were just featured on @sos_st.louis for our high quality care and safe/healthy/happy treatment of our horses and other animals! We often sacrifice profit for care and I don't regret it for an instant. Our horses choose their jobs, rest when needed and only take on the workloads they are comfortable with. The end result is that our horse-to-student ratio is much different than most barns. No horse does more than 4 lessons a day here and most do less. All get Mondays and Fridays off, including if they are leased out. And that's just the beginning..... #animalcare #qualityanimalcare #veganlife #horsecare
