This gentleman suffered from a global cerebral hypoxic event of his brain. Has been working on regaining his memory function since then. He has stabilized with his short term memory, needs more on his working memory, but what is most important is that he more interactive with his loved ones since receiving #functionalneurology with our #shedlightcoldlasers and #neurosage. Working on stimulating memory centers and VOR cancelation (your ability to move your eyes with your head when you turn your head).

Being it is a spectrum, it can be very severe involving no verbal skills to mild and having mild traits. Changes in function can be made, therefore abilities to socially interact, and live a life with less detriment is very possible with the right help! #functionalneurology #neurosage #shedlightcoldlasers #autismawareness
The sixth sense, proprioception, allows you to be aware of your body’s position in relation to space and movement. This sense starts with special receptors in muscles, tendons, and joints and their main job is to detect changes in tension, pressure, and muscle length. Sensory nerves run the communication from these receptors directly to the brain and provide an internal representation of your body so you can move and feel freely through space without the need to overly depend on other sensory systems!
Work hard or play hard? Why not do both? Kitties need good brain integration too!
Here’s a little girl whom we have had the blessing of helping very early on. Haven’t seen her in sometime until she completed a week long intensive. She kicked butt and took names! She is purposefully moving her body more, cruising furniture, pulling to stand, you name it. Go Z!!!!!!
A little home made Thank You note from the older sister of a long time patient!
Just working on building some word decoding and math skill neuronal networks here! These two are nearing the end of their program. Gone from C’s and D’s to busting out A’s and B’s!!!#neurosage #shedlightcoldlasers (lasers not seen in video)
The vagus nerve is the longest and arguably the most complex cranial nerve of our nervous system. It’s nucleus is housed in the brain stem and runs all the way to the abdomen! This nerve is responsible for modulating parasympathetic activity of our gut, heart, and lungs and plays a role in facilitating a rest and digest state of being.
Congratulations to all of the new fellows!!!!!!!!

Meditation and the Brain Meditation is a mindfulness practice that has been around for at least 5,000 years. Research has been recently growing exploring the benefits that mindfulness meditation has on the body, brain, and psyche. Here are a few benefits of meditation and what it can do for your overall health and wellness. Meditation Helps Preserve the Aging Brain. A study from UCLA revealed that Individuals who meditate on aregular basis showed moremore grey matter volum...e throughout the brain compared to non-meditators. Yale University published a study that explained how meditation alters mode networkswithin the brain. The network responsible for wandering and self referring thoughts (aka the monkey mind network) was found to be reduced in those that practiced mindfulness meditation. Meditation can help reduce symptoms of depression, anxiety, and pain. Meditation can actually change the volume of key areas in the brain. Harvard found that after 8 weeks of mindfulness based practice, participants showed an increased in volume of the hippocampus (an area important for learning and memory) and other regions that influence emotional regulation and perception of self.
