Susan Hill’s art show at HJ’s Youth and Community Center came down on Monday before the stay at home order at 12:01 am. It was a beautiful show of fiber colla...ge compositions. Susan is seen here with one of her happy patrons, John Walker, before she dismantled the artwork. The piece will grace the walls of the Walker home! Great show Susan! All scheduled art shows at HJ’s Gallery have been postponed until future notice for 2020 due to COVID19. We will be looking forward to showing the art work of Michael Cherepak, Royal Scanlan, Ada Niedenthal, a two woman show with Louanne Hein and Chris Willey, ReGen - Group Show with Janet Kuemmerlein, Donna Bachmann, Catherine Vesce, Megan Wurth, Jane Pronko, Diane Werts, Sharon Hunter Putsch, Lynn Richardson and Carol Zastoupil. Susan Hill’s art show Observations / Reflections and reception had a large turn out on 2/14/20 at HJ’s Gallery in HJ’s Youth and Community Center an Outreach... of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. Art lovers, friends and family turned out to enjoy Susan’s artwork. If you missed the opening you can drop in Monday through Friday from 8-11 am and Saturday 8- noon for complimentary coffee, lattes and pastries and view Susan Hill’s gorgeous impeccable fiber collages. HONORING MLK: It was a day of service for Kansas City Vista members who packed toiletry kits for the homeless at HJ's.

GOOD THINGS HAPPENING AT KCPS: Today HJ's hosted the Waldo Business Association's monthly meeting with Kansas City Public Schools Superintendent Mark Bedell as speaker. Bedell outlined new programs and plans for the continued growth of the district.

TOILETRIES FOR GOOD: HJ's is participating in the MLK Day Hygiene Kit Drive. If you'd like to donate shampoo, soap, toothpaste, washcloths, or other toiletries, we have a box for them. The drive continues through Jan. 15.
