Happy Friday! Today we're highlighting one more digitized collection from Southeast's Special Collections & Archives. If you are a new or returning history student this fall, be sure to take advantage of the resources they can offer you in your research! The staff there is always ready and willing to help students with finding what they need. The link below is to their collection of historic postcards with pictures of Cape Girardeau or the surrounding area. Included are buildings such as Academic Hall, the Cape Girardeau County Courthouse, and the old Cape Central High School. Take a look! https://semo.contentdm.oclc.org/digital/collection/postcards

Good Wednesday morning! Today we're continuing to highlight the good work of Southeast's Special Collections & Archives by posting another collection they've digitized so that you can explore it from home. This one, a collaborative project whose contributors also included the Department of History and Anthropology and the Center for Regional History, is entitled "Confluence and Crossroads- The Civil War in the American Heartland." The collection consists of various types of documents from 1854 until 1877 and is absolutely fascinating to look through. If you haven't explored it already (and even if you have), be sure to click on the link below and see what you can discover! https://semo.contentdm.oclc.org/digital/collection/Civil_War
