Wow. America, you are in an abusive relationship. Culture. Media. Government. Sound familiar? There are principalities set against us. All of us. ... Confusion, hostility, and hopelessness are the fruit of their abuse. They will never relent or mature enough to love us. We are to be controlled only and never considered. Strongholds don’t have favorite sides or parties, they intend we ALL perish. It’s time to break up. We don’t have to be so tightly bound to them. We can walk. We can turn them off. Vote them out. We can stop letting them make all the rules. Man and systems of man were never intended to rule our hearts and minds. I may not be able to change my circumstances one iota, but I’m telling you what the Word of God alone will reign in me, the Peace of God alone will comfort me and the joy of the Lord alone will be my delight. It’s not a friends winning or approval garnering strategy, I know. But, it is the only way to be truly free in a heavy and fallen world. I’ll go first. I’m done apologizing for nothing. I’m done accepting total distortions of reality. I’m done being made to pretend that what is not normal at all is normal. I’m done being preached to about the Bible I know by people who don’t know it or believe it. I’m done being told what I believe about Jesus by people who reject and hate Him. I’m done being told what is true by people who reject absolute truth. I’m done having my faith represented by people who question their own. I’m done being told what is moral by the godless and vile. I’m done being told what’s best for me by people who don’t know or value me. I’m done having my healthy family criticized by dysfunctional celebrities. I’m done being treated as inferior by elites who think they are better and know better, but don’t behave or live better. I’m done having condemnation and guilt placed upon me simply for being born. I’m done with people who are not good and don’t do good deciding what is good. And, not that I have or would participate in this involuntary and insincere penance... but I’m done with the impotent public apologies, self-loathing shame sessions, confessions and promises to listen more, be re-educated and emerge a better ally. Soooooo very done. Ain’t having it. Ain’t doing it. Bring on the scorn. It’s over. I feel much better. There’s a reason He called you to be salt, Church. It’s because sugar and spice get us where we are now.
