We're putting our 2021 schedule together! It might be the only bit of normalcy we get so we are going for it!
Happy New Year from all of us here at Rockin H! This struck me hard today. I'm going to smile more, gossip less (NONE?!), and do more things that challenge me. 2021, here we come!
I have the blanket cleaning gal coming to do a barn pickup Tuesday morning! She does a great job. If you need blankets cleaned (she does repair too!) holler and you can drop off today or tomorrow to have yours go with my load
We are so blessed at the outpouring of love and excitement from this announcement already. We have amazing friends, family, and extended barn family. Little tyke coming late summer 2021
As 2020 draws to a close, we want to take a moment to be thankful- We are thankful we have stayed healthy and been able to keep working. We sre thankful for all the wonderful animals we have been blessed with- canine, feline, equine, and bovine! ... We are thankful for all the wonderful people who came to our Outlaw Rider shows, and we are thankful for our great group of riders who braved the pandemic to show all year! Lastly, we are so grateful for the folks who sent us their horses to sell and others who trusted us to find them new equine partners. If youre looking to buy or sell, 2021 can be YOUR YEAR! Let's make it memorable together!
Surprise! There's a lot of this going around lately!
Beautiful sunrise this morning
Merry Christmas from the first batch of home grown heifers here at Rockin H, and from all our equine and bovine friends

No matter what happens today, tomorrow we will be here riding, learning, loving our animals. Together Choose kindness.
Ferdinand went to town today for Halloween!!! He was such a gentleman and let so many folks pet him! Don't worry, folks were safe as the Ghostbusters were there too!

To the women raising cattle for butcher, but cuddling a wet, struggling newborn calf, that’s covered in afterbirth, inside their pickup truck. To the women who believe in God and the word, but also believe that everyone has a right to love who they want. To the women who aren’t trying to prove they can do anything a man can do, but genuinely enjoy pushing themselves to conquer any challenge.... To the women with broken and chipped nails, but still have painted on red polish. To the women giving immunizations and administering medicine, but still believe in the healing powers of stones and plants. To the women always dressing up for the occasion, wearing yesterday’s curls, blue jeans, and the heels of cowboy boots. To the women busting their knuckles and callusing their palms, but still wearing their diamond wedding bands and turquoise jewels. To the women who want to be in the church pew, but there is work to be done and know God can be worshipped on the back of a horse. No labels. No boxes. No judgements. May we know these kind of women. May we be these kind of women. May we raise these kind of women. I know a few of these women and I cherish them. You may not know it, but I do
I "might" have a problem. How many is too many?
We had a GREAT show today! Our riders really showed off how much they have worked this summer to improve their horses and their all around skills! There are many many rides not listed here that were outstanding! A couple riders brand new to showing and/or cattle were so brave and persistent! Way to go!
To be honest, some days I dont like my job. Somedays it just downright sucks. The manure spreader broke so I'm shoveling it out by hand while the wind is blowing it in my face, or the cows got out and I spend a gorgeous day chasing them and fixing fence (in their defense this hasnt happened recently!), or the arena needs watered and the sprayer is missing, or the weather is awful, or i'm done early and Dustin works late or i work late and Dustin is early, or whatever! Some da...ys its hard to step outside and muscle through. Then I have a week like this past week and I've had the chance to bring serious joy to people. One boy was in awe as he rode around the arena for the first time. I'm on a real horse Dad! A foreign exchange student who is away from home in a strange country DURING COVID lit up like a Christmas tree when I offered her an English saddle and she hugged her horse after her ride with such serene gratitude. Horses touch such a deep place in our souls no matter who we are. To share that is my privilege. I strive to reach for this feeling on those days when the world seems to be literally working against me, and remember the moments of true connection with ourselves and horses.
She's the sweetest dog we have ever had And she also keeps the place varmint free. She caught and killed a raccoon this morning
