Mercedes and her sister, Meredith, came to us from a rural animal control. They were trapped as feral kittens so it took some time to get them socialized and acclimated to people. Mercedes is a gorgeous color of silver/blue with mesmerizing green eyes. She is the more shy and timid of the two. Unlike her sister, she will probably need a few weeks to settle in to a new home. She is rather coy and independent in nature and prefers attention on her terms. However, she's do...cile and not at all aggressive, she's just not super cuddly and friendly like her sis. She does take cues from Meredith though and once she sees that her sister is comfortable in a setting, she will start to relax and become more engaging towards people. She is very playful and often gets the zoomies, chasing her sis around the house. It's quite entertaining to watch the two girls play together, never a dull moment with these two. Mercedes loves toys, canned food and treats (which are all great ways for getting her to warm up to you). She likes other cats and must be adopted with her sister as they are very bonded. No young kids but a cat-friendly, calm dog would probably be fine after a proper introduction. Meredith is spayed, current on vaccinations, microchipped and negative for FeLV/FIV - DOB 3/1/20 (tag 12587JB). See more

Meredith and her sister, Mercedes, came to us from a rural animal control. They were trapped as feral kittens so it took some time to get them socialized and acclimated to people. Meredith is a stunning calico with tabby stripes. She is very playful and silly and is definitely the more social and friendly of the two. She may need a few days to settle in to a new home, but she's quite the curious little gal and is always exploring. Playtime is her favorite and she will zo...om around the house at full speed. She enjoys toys, climbing her cat trees and wrestling with/chasing her sister. She's not big on being held, but she loves to be petted and have her chin/ears scratched. Meredith is rather vocal when she wants attention or treats, and she will tell you all about her day. She and her sister must be adopted together as they are very bonded. However, they would both do fine with other cats. No young kids but a cat-friendly, calm dog would probably be fine after a proper introduction. Meredith is spayed, current on vaccinations, microchipped and negative for FeLV/FIV - DOB 3/1/20 (tag 12577JB). See more

Meet Sid - this handsome fella was surrendered to us by his owner because she was moving and could not take him with her. He is a striking classic tabby with those thick swirl patterns on his coat, and his golden eyes will just melt your heart. Sid is a love bug; he adores attention from his humans and will give lots of head bonks to let you know how much he loves you. He likes tummy rubs and cuddles, but not too big on being held (more of a sit down next to you or lay on ...your lap kind of guy). Sid isn't big on playing with toys, he would much rather hang out and chill with his humans. He can often be found burrowed under his blanket, taking a snooze. Sid tested positive for FIV, but it's really not a big deal. FIV cats can live long, healthy lives; they just may have a more sensitive immune system so it's important they be on a good diet and kept strictly indoors. The virus can only be transmitted to other cats either via a deep bite wound or in utero from mom to babies. Sid is very healthy and is fully vetted and ready for his forever home. He would make an awesome companion for a single person, couple or family with respectful kids. He is neutered, current on vaccinations and microchipped - DOB 3/1/2020 (tag JB). See more

**Update: Adoption Pending** This insanely sweet, ridiculously silly and extremely beautiful girl is officially ready to find her furever family Calliope was ...rescued on Dec 31st after being regularly being seen outside of a laundry mat in rural MO. She was terrified, thin & surviving on scraps of food that people would toss her, where it was evident that she wasn’t cut out for the streets and didn’t have the skill set to survive as an outside cat. Since coming into rescue, Cali has made it even more evident that she was clearly meant for the indoor life of being pampered like a queen and getting ALL of the cuddles. When first meeting new people, Cali typically takes a sit back and observe approach. I mean what true queen throws herself at and falls at the feet of her subjects anyway?! However, once she gets to know you, she will never play hard to get again. Instead, she will take EVERY opportunity to rub against your legs with every step that you take, headbonk you in greeting and and will rub her face against yours while pausing as you kiss her fluffy little cheeks. She will make you laugh out loud with her silly personality that includes flipping on her side, pushing a few centimeters forward off of her back toes, then will flop over to her other side to do the same over and over, as she slowly inches closer and closer like a little inch worm. She is as insanely sweet and affectionate as she is beautiful. Cali is a very smol girl weighing only 7lbs. She is just over 1yr old so she is fully grown and will be a perma-kitten for life. She does well with other cats, as she has greeted my resident cats with headbonks anytime that she has met one. She also LOVES to play with jingle toys and basically all toys in general, as she often has them scattered around my bedroom. She also loves to sit in the window to observe her kingdom from on high. Cali would adjust well in any home that comes equipped with A LOT of cuddles! Calliope is available for adoption via Heartland Humane Society of MO ID#: 12591BH. She has been fully vetted and her adoption fee of $110 includes microchip, spay, Rabies/FVRCP/FELV vaccinations, deworming, flea treatment so no additional vetting while be required until her booster vaccinations are due in March 2022. Cali resides in her foster home in South STL City, so any Meet and Greets will only happen there while also observing all COVID precautions as required by the City of STL. Won’t you consider adding a little Goddess of Music and Poetry to your Family by applying to adopt Calliope today?
