IVC For Immunity Support IVC Now is 7.5 grams (7,500 milligrams) of Vitamin C given intravenously as a push over a short period of time, typically 5 to 10 minutes. Supercharge Your Immunity... Your white blood cells are the soldiers of your immune system. Research shows that white blood cells can concentrate vitamin C up to 8000% greater than the blood level. When under attack by an infection, your white blood cells use this high concentration of vitamin C to make hydrogen peroxide to use against pathogens. Virus-infected cells are identified and attacked by your white blood cells and a killing dose of hydrogen peroxide is injected into the infected cell. Without the ammunition of high reserves of vitamin C, your white blood cells will be less effective. For 30+ years, Health+Plus has administered vitamin C intravenously as a safe and effective way to maximize immune responsiveness. Call to schedule: 816.625.4497 Walk-in appointments will not be accepted. 1. You will be given a short medical history form to fill out before your first visit to make sure there are no contraindications to you receiving an IVC push. This form will be emailed to you after you call and make your appointment. Please print this at home and bring the filled-out forms with you. 2. One of our providers will then review your history form, check your vital signs, check a urinalysis, and assess your overall medical status. 3. If approved, you will have a butterfly IV needle and then administer a pH-balanced, isotonic push of 7.5 grams (7,500 mg) of pure sodium ascorbate over about 5-10 minutes. 4. We suggest that you eat something prior to the infusion since a high dose of vitamin C can cause a mild blood sugar drop in rare individuals. 5. This 7.5-gram IVC PUSH can be repeated weekly to maintain high intracellular reserves of vitamin C. This is in addition to any oral supplements or lifestyle adjustments you have made to amplify your immune responsiveness. The cost of IVC NOW will be $100.00 for each 7.5 g IVC Push. There is an additional fee for the short evaluation with one of our providers due at your first visit/IV or if you have not seen one of our providers within the last six months. The cost of this appointment will be $65.00. Please ask our staff for details.

HAVE A LAUGH! IT DOES YOU GOOD Whether you're guffawing at a sitcom on TV or quietly giggling at a newspaper cartoon, laughing does you good. Laughter is a great form of stress relief, and that's no joke. Stress relief from laughter A good sense of humor can't cure all ailments, but data is mounting about the positive things laughter can do.... Short-term benefits A good laugh has great short-term effects. When you start to laugh, it doesn't just lighten your load mentally, it actually induces physical changes in your body. Laughter can: Stimulate many organs. Laughter enhances your intake of oxygen-rich air, stimulates your heart, lungs and muscles, and increases the endorphins that are released by your brain. Activate and relieve your stress response. A rollicking laugh fires up and then cools down your stress response, and it can increase and then decrease your heart rate and blood pressure. The result? A good, relaxed feeling. Soothe tension. Laughter can also stimulate circulation and aid muscle relaxation, both of which can help reduce some of the physical symptoms of stress. Long-term effects Laughter isn't just a quick pick-me-up, though. It's also good for you over the long term. Laughter may: Improve your immune system. Negative thoughts manifest into chemical reactions that can affect your body by bringing more stress into your system and decreasing your immunity. By contrast, positive thoughts can actually release neuropeptides that help fight stress and potentially more-serious illnesses. Relieve pain. Laughter may ease pain by causing the body to produce its own natural painkillers. Increase personal satisfaction. Laughter can also make it easier to cope with difficult situations. It also helps you connect with other people. Improve your mood. Many people experience depression, sometimes due to chronic illnesses. Laughter can help lessen your depression and anxiety and may make you feel happier. https://images.pexels.com//156731/pexels-photo-156731.jpeg Dr. David B. Clark, DC, DABCI, NMD Health+Plus

ROW, ROW, ROW YOUR BOAT Some folks don't understand that health care for chronic conditions is a partnership. I sometimes use the illustration of 2 people rowing a boat, each one with one oar. If only the health care provider is rowing, the boat will go in circles. And other folks are simply not willing to participate. In a manner of speaking, they'd like to drop their body off at a clinic, and pick it up again in a day or two - like having a garment dry-cleaned. They're not ...really willing to improve their lifestyle. What you eat, what you drink, and how much sleep you get are HUGE factors in your health. The doctor can make recommendations, but YOU have to help 'row the boat' if you want optimal results. Whether it's remembering to take a capsule, or changing to a healthier diet, it's up to the patient. The doctor isn't going to stay with you 24 hours a day to make sure that you comply with his or her recommendations. So, help 'row, row, row your boat'! https://media.sciencephoto.com//83/08/f0178308-800px-wm.jpg Dr. David B. Clark, DC, DABCI, NMD Health+Plus

MEDICAL RACISM Dr. Charles Drew was the pioneer of developing blood banks in the early 1940s that made transfusions possible, safe, and practical. His innovative work resulted in saving countless lives around the world. He made it possible for many American and British soldiers' lives to be saved. He helped developed the concept of 'blood-mobiles' for the Red Cross. Dr Drew was lauded by physicians around the world for his development of this major medical breakthrough, but h...ad to leave the Red Cross because of race. America was still frozen in the attitude of racial segregation...and Dr Drew was a Black man. In the South, hospitals were segregated. Some were for 'Whites only', and others had separate, run-down wings that were for Black people only. There was racism even in blood: White people could not be given a blood transfusion from a Black person, and vice versa. Dr Drew was involved in a horrible automobile accident at age 46. He and his companions were taken to the nearest hospital - a 'Whites only' hospital. Dr Drew died at the hospital. He was not given a blood transfusion. His Black companions were transferred to a 'Black' hospital as soon as possible. Most of us do not personally recall that degree of racism in the United States. Thankfully, we have made tremendous progress...but it's important that we realize how bad things used to be - even in medical science. Dr. David B. Clark, DC, DABCI, NMD Health+Plus

TREE OF LIFE In the year 1536, the entire crew of French explorer Jacques Cartier's ships became very ill with scurvy. They had bleeding gums, loose teeth, loss of hair, extreme fatigue, pains in their joints, and other symptoms. Everyone was very ill, and many men died, but the reason was unknown. Thankfully, the indigenous people of the Huron tribe offered to help the sailors. The Hurons made an infusion from the bark of a tree, and when the crew drank it they bega...n to impove almost instantly, and eventually fully recovered! What was the amazing tree? It's a tall shrub found in many lawns today: arbor vitae. Arbor vitae is high in vitamin C, as well as arginine [which helps circulatory and heart health]. 'Arbor vitae' is Latin for 'tree of life'. For Cartier's crew it really was the tree of life! Now we know that vitamin C deficiency is the cause of scurvy, but the health benefits of vitamin C would not be realized until 400 years later. LATEST COVID NEWS In the past few weeks we have seen news articles about the benefits of vitamin and mineral therapies that have been shown to reduce the risk of getting COVID, and reducing symptoms if one has contracted it. Vitamin C. Zinc. Vitamin D. Quercitin. Also we're hearing more about the benefits of conditioning the air inside buildings with UV light and ozone. All of those things are true, and we're very glad they have become newsworthy. And...at... Health+Plus we have known [and implemented] each of these anti-viral treatments for the past few decades! Some people imagine that as long as they take nutritional supplements, or have IV therapies they have done all that is necessary to be healthy. The truth is that those things DO help tremendously, but eating healthy, avoiding toxins, and other positive lifestyle factors are also necessary to enjoy the very best of health. Dr. David B. FILL 'EM UP! Filling your lungs with deep breathing has multiple health benefits. Most of us most of the time do not fully fill our lungs. It requires a degree of thought to breathe deeply. Try filling your lungs as deeply as possible. Let your chest and tummy expand with the air. [If you're unaccustomed to doing this, it is best done while lying down or sitting in a comfortable chair, because you may feel light-headed.] The benefits include calming the nervous system, impro...ving blood flow, improving lymphatic drainage, and improving digestion [because the digestive organs will move a little during deep breathing]. Deep breathing may help reduce blood pressure, improve heart rate, reduce pain, and strengthen the immune system. A few minutes spent filling your lungs is a very healthy exercise...and it's free!! CRACK A SMILE Sometimes when a child is pouting and frowning, an adult might tease: "Don't smile or your face will crack." You may have also heard the phrase "crack a smile". Ever wonder why? Because in centuries past women would apply a new layer of makeup without first removing the previous layer! Queen Elizabeth the First, for example, had very bad pock-marks on her face, and piled layer after layer of white lead makeup to her face. And, as you might guess, if she smiled h...er 'face' would literally crack! Dr. David B. Clark, DC, DABCI, NMD Health+Plus

PAYING ATTENTION? One of the most common complaints people have about the traditional medical system is that they feel the doctors and other practitioners don't pay attention to them. There are several reasons, of course. The biggest have to do with corporate pressure to spend a minimum amount of time with a patient; in some clinics the practitioner is limited to 6 minutes. Naturally, one result of this type of pressure to rush results in the clinician listening to as little ...as possible before making a decision and writing a prescription. The 'churn and earn' expectation of corporate medicine is one of the major reasons patients feel slighted during their visit to the doctor. [By the way, do you know why we say 'pay attention'? We associate the word 'pay' with money, but 'pay' also means 'give'.] Dr. David B. Clark, DC, DABCI, NMD Health+Plus

POTASSIUM Potassium is a mineral that is essential for heart, muscle and nerve function. When we perspire [and who hasn't recently?] we lose potassium. It's a good idea to include some potassium-rich foods in your diet every day. So, what's high in potassium? Bananas, right? Yes, but there are several foods as high or higher in potassium than bananas. Foods with about as much potassium as bananas include: tomatoes, mushrooms, avocados, edamame. Foods with mo...re potassium include:potatoes [twice as much], salmon, beet greens, sweet potatoes, tuna, lima beans, prunes, most dried beans. Be sure your diet contains foods high in potassium - especially during hot weather. Dr. David B. Clark, DC, DABCI, NMD Health+Plus
