Healing Hearts Grief Support

It is with deep sadness that Amy and I have made the difficult decision to close our Healing Hearts Grief Support program. A number of factors have contributed to our decision to close the program. We have been and are currently struggling financially due to our annual fundraiser being canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid. In addition, we lost our meeting space for our children's group shortly before Covid hit. And then in June of 2020, our entire office building in Bal...lwin flooded when a flash flood sent water rushing through the building from a creek behind us in the parking lot. Most of the contents of our Healing Hearts office were destroyed from the muddy water. Due to these losses, as well as an overall decline in group member participation, we have made the very hard decision to close our doors at the end of May 2021. Amy and I would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all of you and to Missouri Baptist Healthcare Foundation for the support that has been provided these last 5 years in funding and donations. We provided grief support for hundreds of families and we know we helped so many people through some of their darkest hours. We feel honored and blessed to have done this work together as a team, and to sit beside our group members as they move through their difficult grief journeys. Their stories and their loved one's names will stay etched in our memories forever. I look forward to retirement later this year and plan to do some traveling and spending time with my grandchildren and family after Covid, and Amy will continue to provide virtual counseling services in her private practice [www.amybrowncounseling.com ].
