The HTC pro staff had a strong showing today in the Show Me State Team Series tournament on Truman Reservoir. The HTC Team covered the top three spots and had both big bass of the tournament!! Tom McGovern and Bob Bradley took top honors and big bass hooking up 17.28 lbs with a 5.11 kicker. Pro Staffer Gus Adkinson and partner Gary Arterberry were runners up with 15.29lb with a 2nd big bass of 4.57, both teams were throwing a variety of HTC 1.5 squarebills mixed with some ...various soft plastics to fill out their limits. Tom stated that their first fish of the day was about ten minutes into the tournament and slammed a new holographic bluegill pattern that nearly took Bobs' rod away from him! Pro Staffer and Points leader Blake Felix fished alone today and wrestled 13.78 lbs to the scales, maintaining his teams' lead in the points race with one final qualifier left. Excellant work guys!! Eleven teams have qualified so far for the 2016 Show Me State Team Series Classic presented by Charlie's Buffet. The Classic will be held October 16th 2016 fro...m 7:00am-3:00pm. The Classic is a 100% payback tournament with Charlie's Buffet sponsoring an extra $500.00 to the Classic Champions. Blake Felix and Keith Nickell maintained their points lead with a 4th place finish on Sunday by adding 160.60 points, bringing their total to 648.85. Marty Watson and Doug Long had a tough day on Sunday with a 15th place finish allowing Blake and Keith to lengthen their lead on the 2nd place team and let Charlie Edgar and Ozzie Wallace to close in to less than 1 full point for thirdb. In fact there is a total of 3.13 points between the 2nd and 5th place teams, and only 28.26 points between 1st and 5th. With 3 qualifiers left this is still anybodies race. See more

Sundays' fourth Team Series qualifier garnered 26 teams to brave the heat and humidity in search of that big bag of Truman Lake bass. Doug Wallace and John Cam...pbell found five of those fish that pushed the Pro Tournament Scales down to 16.84 lbs, Doug anchored their bag weight with an adult largemouth weighing in at 5.17. The husband and wife team of Billy and Kelley Greenwell claimed 2nd place with a total weight of 13.91. John Krewson and Fred Baraks found four of the right fish that together weighed in at 13.71. Blake Felix and Keith Nickell held on to their points lead with a limit weighing in at 13.60, good enough for a fourth place check. The top five was rounded out by Danny Johnston and James McLeod who coaxed in a limit of bass led by a 5.45 buckethead which claimed a $500.00 check for big bass. Eddie Stephens narrowly holds the lead for big bass of the year with a 5.57. Big bass of the year will take home a Dobyns 705 Champion series crankbait rod. We guaranteed $1,000.00 for first place with a minimum field of 25 boats, Doug and John took home a total of $1494.50 for their days efforts. Congratulations gentlemen! We will continue the guaranteed payout of $1,000.00 for 1st place with a minimum 25 boat field, and $1,200.00 with a minimum 35 boat field, for the remaining qualifiers.
