My tiny best friend! I took Nyla for a walk, today. This chick power walks it and loves every second of it. Nyla has been spending more time away from her puppies, little by little. She’s, still, a little bossy and crabby with other dogs coming around her area. She put Patrick in his place for sure. (Died laughing) Nyla is a fun little dog. She talks a lot in her library voice. She is on high alert by other walkers in the neighborhood. Circles, cuddles and kisses! Where are my chihuahua lovers? 4 weeks and she will be ready for love outside motherhood!

We finally have names for the puppies! Margo and Theo No more baby pool for them bc they are on the run as much as they can run. Or wobble. They will be 4 weeks old on Tuesday, we started trying puppy kibble soaked in milk replacement. Margo went crazy!! They aren’t even a pound yet....... Nyla had a bath, today and finally decided to enjoy a chew!! She is a great Mom but is definitely enjoying time away and LOTS of cuddles. See more

This sweet girl has come such a long way in 9 days. We laugh at how scared we were of a 7# dog shredding our faces on day one. Now, we can handle the puppies in her presence with no problems. Now she wants to be out and about a minute longer every day. She barks her head off until I get to her door and say, where’s my best friend? Then- circles!

Let’s talk about Martina. She has been with us for 4 weeks. She’s come out of her shell, very slowly, but we are progressing. Her spay is this week then she will be up for adoption. Marti needs time and patience. More than that she needs another dog friend. That’s the only thing that gets her confidence up and running. If there are other dog friends she lights up the room!! She will snuggle with humans as long as dogs are near. Marti wants to be in the mix! She desires pack mentality and she’s growing. We are still helping her come around but we would love to find a family that has a dog that would love a friend. And that family to be very understanding of Marti’s timeline for comfort. She is 1 year old and 35#. She’s a great dog!

This sweet girl.... Today was her thorough vetting appt. Being a sweet kennett dog we do bite our fingernails waiting for the Heartworm test. It’s a miracle; hw-! The vet said that her uterus was very, very used amd full of fluid; pyometra was coming. But- Boo is going to recover just fine, a happy, healthy girl! We have more good news for her- stay tuned. I had such hope you would survive. 11/24 would be 8 weeks post final injection to cure your disease. I, so badly, needed that miracle. You died with love and not in a shelter but I wanted much more. That final car ride was a nightmare. I, still, play it in my head, over and over. You just drop life and go. We were rushing so fast. Talking to Jazzy. Telling her we loved her and she was going to make it. 141 at the Bluffs I turned around and told her we got you, girl. Foster ...mom telling her she loved her. She f*^king collapsed. One breath and a seizure. We were yelling and screaming. Her foster mom jumped in the back, screaming to give her CPR with no compressions. Screaming. Begging for our dog to be saved. Begging people to drive faster. Begging Jazzy to wake up. So much screaming and begging her to wake up. She was cold by the time we pulled over just 2 stop lights down. Cold. Gone. She shouldn’t have died this way. I miss you and your grateful kisses. 19 days of sun, love and being a family dog. We loved you. See more

Simon came to the rescue 10/17, 2 weeks earlier than expected. 10/31 he joined his family; the original transport day. Crazy how things work out. This couldn’t happen without foster homes making themselves crazy for the sake of a dog. Simon’s new canine bro, Lucas, is amazing, welcoming and loving. We couldn’t have asked for a better family. Had a small inclination it would be good when the vet office cheered and danced; Sharon is getting a new dog from Harter’s. Happy tails sweet Simon.
