Harper's Family Farm 04.05.2021

Yesterday we went to pick up the materials for the roof of a 40x50 building down in Arkansas. The majority of the trip was trouble free right up until this plastic intercooler tube split open right at the I44/I49 junction. It's a good thing Brad packed the "Gorilla" tape for the ride, we thought we were going to have to put flags on the pipe hanging off the trailer. Robby was able to limp the truck to the next exit to be able to wrap some of the tape around the split in the t...ube and hobbled the truck down the road about 6 miles to the Oriellys in Carthage MO. They looked up the replacement part and found one in Joplin, about 16 miles away. They wouldn't deliver the part because it was past time for their last delivery so we pulled the tube completely out, cleaned it with brake cleaner, taped it up real good again and put some hose clamps on it for good measure. Back to Joplin we went, again limping along down the interstate. There are three Oriellys stores in Joplin and of course the one that had the part was the farthest away. We made it there, Robby got the new upgraded tube and installed it and we were back on the road. Just a minor 3ish hour setback but it's all behind us now. Today we get to unload the trailer and start planning a modern barn raising. See more

I'm not a horsey guy but I could see a few horsey people I know possibly doing this.

Making history, only the second ever "selfie" from me. Chopped ice for the cows and horses at -3 this afternoon. They have all been reluctant to come to the hole to drink but they were all over it today.

Guess it's a good thing I don't like stretch gap gates.

They are practically in our back yard. I remember going to the auction barn with my Great Grandpa Charlie before Anstine's bought it and now 40ish years later I'm still going out there.
