Winds and winter weather will be affecting the forecast area, especially north and NW Missouri. If possible, keep travel at a minimum on Friday and avoid travel north of HWY 36 due to the chance for blowing snow reducing visibilities, creating hazardous traveling conditions.

A winter storm is expected to impact the region beginning late tonight and continuing through Friday afternoon. Travel conditions will deteriorate rapidly once wintry precipitation begins, so please make sure you plan accordingly for any NYE plans. See the graphics for details!

The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill has now put out a timeline for when the wintry weather will appear in northern Missouri. The weather service is in...dicating that roads will be impacted by icy conditions starting Tuesday morning. First from snow, and then freezing rain by late morning. If you must travel, give yourself plenty of time to get where you are going tomorrow is essential for safety. The weather service has expanded the Winter Weather Advisory which will be in place from Noon on Tuesday to 6 am Wednesday for pretty much every county north of Highway 36 in northern Missouri.
