This guest has messaged me a couple times over the years to ask hair color questions, and finally made it to my chair for the 1st time. Her ultimate goal was to have a deep base color with a bright blonde balayage. However, we both felt her hair couldn’t handle more bleach at this time, so we deepened her base, and ran ribbons of a cool brown through her hair to help add some depth and give her blonde a brighter appearance. #hairbysjoyj

This sweet pea came in for a big change! I’ve said it 100 times and I will keep saying it, this mid length is one of my favorite lengths!! It was a major change for her, but still long enough for a cute pony or top knot, plus, super easy to grow back out if she decided she wants to have long hair again! #hairbysjoyj

Added more bold ribbons of a deep cashmere brown and touched up some blonde around her hair line and part to help blend with her natural sparkles as her hair grows. #hairbysjoyj

Cut off some inches, did an all over rich base color, added some lowlights and brightened up some higjlhlights! #hairbysjoyj

This was a new guest who hadn’t had her hair done since pre-pandemic. She needed a good trim, and wanted to darker her hair without changing her maintenance, especially if there’s another shut down. I weaved small strands of chocolate brown to create a sort of a faux rooted look and to riches some of her ends, without all over color maintenance. #hairbysjoyj

First time guest, and she wanted to go a bit darker. Not having worked with her hair before, I started with a subtle change, so I could determine how her hair takes color. We may go a bit darker next time, but we were happy with this small step in the right direction! #hairbysjoyj

This guest gets highlights about twice a year, and in the fall, I weave in small strands of darker color. Notice how her blonde looks lighter and icier in her after pictures?? We didn’t touch her blonde, but the lowlight we added, changed the amount of contrast and tone through her hair. #hairbysjoyj

It was time to deepen her color and lose some inches! #hairbysjoyj
