Legend has it that Henry Ford would observe if a candidate put salt on their food before tasting it. If they did, they wouldn’t get the job. Why? According to him, this simple act reveals that the candidate is a poor decision maker and doesn’t evaluate situations before taking action. #WaybackWednesday #SaltTest #HenryFord

The warm weather has us thinking about the pool. Do you know some of the big PROS to having a #SaltwaterPool? 1) Lower chlorine levels make saltwater pools gentler on skin and eyes. A great choice if the pool is to be used by kids. 2) Chlorine levels in saltwater pools are enough to disinfect, but not enough to fade expensive swimwear and gear.... 3) Because of the natural chlorine, saltwater pools require fewer chemicals (and less attention) compared to chlorinated pools.

Did you know... "Only about 6% of the salt manufactured in the world is used in food. Of the remainder, 12% is used in water conditioning processes, 8% goes for de-icing highways and 6% is used in agriculture. The rest (68%) is used for manufacturing and other industrial processes." We didn't want to let this #NewYorkTimes article about #FrenchSalt go unnoticed! Did anyone else see this article from just a week ago? Walking on the same clay path doing the same gesture as the guys in the 13th or 14th centuries is one of the reasons I love my job so much. One of my favorite souvenirs, or memories, was an evening when me and my older son were harvesting the coarse salt, while my second son was working on our fleur de sel. It all makes our salt very special.

Because #GuntherSalt is in the business of providing cleints with salt, we already knew that #salt makes an excellent, all-natural, cleaning agent. #CleanWithSalt "Good old sodium chloride is great at tackling grime and stains for three reasons: First, it absorbs water, so it can keep a fresh spill from becoming a stain. Second, it’s abrasive, so it makes a good scrub. Third, if you pair it with an acid, like vinegar or lemon juice, you can whip up a powerful cleaner."

An all new use for salt? A potential growth industry for Gunther Salt? A recent take from a columnist in eastern New Mexico! "A couple or three years ago, a dear friend gave me for Christmas one of the best gifts I have ever received: it’s an a-salt gun."
