A number of you have asked me if I'm still open for massage. The answer is yes. I did not take the decision to stay open lightly, and I continue to monitor the news updates and recommendations provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and I am keeping a close eye on information published by local and state health officials. The clients that I saw this week reinforced my belief that massage is not a luxury, but something that needs to be available to everyon...e for a healthy mind and a healthy body. We are all under more stress than usual with this current situation. Witnessing the relief that massage brought to my clients this week both from stress and from pain made me glad that I was still able to serve them. The following is what I posted to my business page earlier this week: As we deal with the coronavirus epidemic, massage is now more important than ever to alleviate stress and maintain a healthy body. I have taken every precaution possible to give you the peace of mind so that you can relax completely while you are receiving your massage. The Missouri Massage Board has strict guidelines for maintaining a clean and safe environment which I continue to adhere to during this crisis. All surfaces in the massage room including door handles and chairs are wiped down and disinfected after each client. Clean sheets and face cradle covers, which are washed in hot bleach water, are used for each client. The massage therapist washes hands and arms thoroughly between clients.
