It's going to be in the 90s today so we just want to remind everyone of some summer safety tips! Please do NOT take your pet with you if you can't bring them inside! Leaving your pet in the car can become very dangerous even if it's only for 5-10 mins! If your pet stays outside you must make sure that it has access to fresh cool water at ALL times. They will also need a cool shaded area to get out of the sun!... Even extended walks can be dangerous so make sure you are taking breaks in the shade and have plenty of cool water to offer your dog while you are out on walks!

Our friends at Fast Yowi Custom Tees have created an extraordinary line of t-shirts to support local business. You purchase the shirts sporting the logos of your favorite CoMo places and Fast Yowi generously provides $20 of each $25 shirt directly to the small business. That is amazing! We can't tell you how much we appreciate that kind of love in such a crazy time! Shop here:

We are sad to say that in light of the current stay at home order, Groomingdales+ will be temporarily closed through April 24. We are considered a non-essential business. We will miss all of our dedicated clientele and we will be ready to beautify your furbabies just as soon as we are given the clearance to reopen. Please give your babies lots of love from all of us. We will see you soon! - The Team at Groomingdales+

This evening, temperatures and windchill are going to be deadly. Please, please do not leave your animals outside. If you notice an animal left in the cold, please call Animal Control immediately. 449-1888 - it’s a matter of life or death with these weather conditions.

IMPORTANT PSA Frostbite and hypothermia is REAL for dogs (and all animals) left out in the arctic temperatures that are moving into the Mid-West When dealing with conditions in the single and negative digits it's easy to underestimate just how quickly hypothermia and frostbite can set in, especially when you assume a dogs fur is enough to keep them warm. No dog should be left unattended in this weather, and failing to take the risk seriously can turn fatal faster than you ma...y realize. Ears, paws and tails of dogs are most at risk for frostbite and hypothermia can easily set in for any dog no matter what it’s breed. To answer the commenters from one of our previous posts noting about how their Arctic breeds love this weather; that's great! It's awesome to see them enjoying a romp in the snow. They are also the minority. The most important part, regardless of breed, is that you are monitoring them and looking for signs of hypothermia and frostbite. Even the heartiest breeds can get cold and if you do not notice or cannot see them shivering, then you cannot help them. Things can go bad very quickly! Here are some tips to prevent frostbite and/or hypothermia but the best way to avoid this is to BRING PETS INSIDE and allow pets to go out only long enough to relieve themselves as them bring them back inside. #bringinyourpets #arcticair
