It was so fun to see so many of your families this morning at Eggstravaganza! Treehouse Kids is back to 2 services tomorrow and elementary students are back in classrooms upstairs.

Join us at Greentree this weekend! Identical services in person at 8AM, 9:30AM, and 11AM. If you don't feel comfortable joining us in person, we'll be streaming live during the 9:30AM service. If social distancing is a priority to you, we encourage you to join us at 6:30AM or 8AM!

On Palm Sunday I asked a few of the Treehouse Kids their favorite part of Easter. I knew what the answers would be: "Eggs!" "A new dress!" "The Bunny!" Isn't Easter about more than eggs, bunnies, and eating food? Of course, but isn't there something so special about how those traditions bring us together? Today is Maundy Thursday and it's the day Jesus would have met with the disciples to eat the Passover meal. I can't imagine it was easy for Jesus to choke down a meal with ...his pals, knowing what was coming next. But the Passover holds great significance of how God keeps His promises to His people. (Go read Matthew 26:17-30.) So if the annual bunny cake competition (or whatever silly tradition you keep in your family) help us connect to the generations of Jesus followers who have trusted that God keeps his promises, then let's celebrate! Our lesson on Sunday ended in preschoolers waving palm fronds and saying, "Hosanna, Hosanna, YAY Jesus!," and it reminded me that the Gospel message cannot and will not be overshadowed by our traditions.
