Seven months after Missouri voters decided to expand Medicaid for 230,000 of their friends and neighbors, Republicans in the Legislature are trying to defund it. Three of those Republicans, Representatives Craig Fishel, John Black and Alex Riley, sit on the Budget Committee and voted against Medicaid expansion. Voters in Greene County chose to expand Medicaid, now their own representatives are trying to take it away. Call your State Representative and tell them to meet the July 1st deadline for Medicaid expansion!

Today President Biden signed the American Rescue Plan into law, a sweeping stimulus package that will directly benefit 90% of households in America. If you are on unemployment, struggling with childcare expenses or just need help making ends meet, help is on the way.

It was a great time Saturday taking a breath to celebrate recent victories with Black Lives Matter Southwest Missouri and other local organizations. We were proud to be represented by Central Committee woman Yolanda Lorge, Representative-Elect Betsy Fogle and House Minority Leader Crystal Quade.
