We hate to see our lambs grow up so fast but it’s that time to let them be themselves and frolic in the great grass! These lambs were in our lambing group from February/March, so now that they are old enough, they’re hanging out and chowing down on our green pastures!
It’s May! Did you know May is American Cheese Month?! So let’s celebrate our amazing cheeses! This cheese is our lovely Dirt Lover! It’s rich, creamy, and very delicious! What separates it from the rest of our cheeses is the fact that we coat this cheese in vegetable ash during its ageing process! This process allows that black color to highlight it’s beauty but speaks to the traditions of old cheese makers, where they would ash their cheese to keep insects away from their p...recious creations! This makes it a unique type of Bloomy Rind cheese! Isn’t she so gorgeous!!

The Green Dirt Farm cheese kitchen is seeking seasonal help! If you're intrigued by the idea of working in cheese, this is the perfect opportunity to get your feet wet, and to do something a little different this summer. This a temporary, entry-level gig assisting with cheesemaking, affinage (cheese-aging!), helping out our packaging team with wrapping, and cleaning our facility. You may notice something new in our cheese case! Queen of the Woods is our newest creation featuring a gooey blend of sheep and cow’s milk wrapped in spruce bark. Enjoy notes of beef broth, caramelized onion and roasted brussel sprouts. Cut the top off and spoon out the center (like a ready-to-go fondue for two!) Queen of the Woods is in VERY limited supply so make sure to stop by the shop to grab yours soon! ....Hoping to bring it to the website next month
