Today GRE celebrated alongside Laclede County the completion of a bridge replacement. The original bridge was a 1942 60-foot 3-span bridge that was 18 feet wide (photo attached). The commission replaced the original structure with a 77-foot single-span prestressed concrete beam bridge that is 24-feet wide. The removal of the center piers allow for unobstructed flow through the stream and prevents debris from piling up and blocking the flow path. Additionally, original 6-inch curbs were replaced with SL-1 guardrail with crash-worthy end terminals, protecting passenger vehicles from leaving the roadway and entering the streambed. The project was built by Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc.
