Don’t forget, the race has been moved this year to the parking lot in front of the Longview Community Center at Longview Community College. The north half of the lot is not available for us to use, but there is parking in the south half of the lot and in other nearby lots. Take the View High Drive exit off of EB I-470 and go south across Longview Road, to the college. The race starts at 8:00am.
Packet pickup is 10am to 4pm today at KC Running Company at 200 E 135th St. Don't forget, we won’t be able to help you outside of those hours and the lines are always longest at the beginning!
Don't forget to come by the drive through packet pickup for the Great Plains 10K on Saturday, from 10am to 4pm at the KC Running Company store at 200 E 135th Street in South Kansas City. Let us know if you are converting to virtual and we will give your your finishers medal too.

It is Great Plains 10K week! Join us Sunday at Longview Community College! Www.greatplains10K.com
We will be moving the start/finish for the Great Plains 10K to Longview Community College and running an out and back course that goes north on View High, west across the dam, then south on Raytown Road to a turnaround, and back to the start! We will once again following the health safety protocols that we have been implementing at races this summer and the smaller number of participants and large pre and post run area will facilitate social distancing before and after the race! Sign up today at www.greatplains10K.com
Here is a great way to stay motivated this Summer!
Due to the limitations on gatherings to combat COVID - 19, and the likelihood that such limitations will soon be further extended into the future, we have postponed the Great Plains 10K in Wichita to Sunday, August 2, 2020, still at Sedgwick County Park in Wichita, KS. We have also extended the price increase that was supposed to go into effect today to June 7, so you will still be able to register at the price that was scheduled to end yesterday for another seven weeks or so.... Those who have already registered have four choices: -Stay with the race and participate on the new August 2 date (no action needs to be taken) -Convert your participation in the event to a virtual participant and run the race when and where you like with no need to report the results, picking up your packet at the packet pickup on August 1 (contact [email protected] to have him make the change) -Defer your registration to the 2021 Great Plains 10K (contact [email protected] to have him make the change) -Switch to the 2020 Old Town 10K on September 20 (contact [email protected] to have him make the change) We are sorry to have to take this step, but please know that we can't wait to see you at a running event as soon as it is safe to do so!
