There are days where you wonder if you're doing anything right, days where you're exhausted... but we'd like to take this opportunity to tell you that you're doing a great job and you deserve recognition. Happy Mother's Day to all of you amazing moms out there!

The honest truth about Pee Wee T-Ball: Will my child be signed by an MLB team off of their pure, raw, 3-6 year-old talent? Not very likely. Okay, we're being honest, the chances are zero. Will my child hit a home run? Anything, and we mean ANYTHING is possible in T-Ball. They may grab the ball themselves and run the bases as the other team chases them... some may have a meltdown over it.... Will my child learn how to play baseball? They'll learn the basics of how the game is played, but explaining outs and when to throw to home doesn't seem to stick with toddlers sometimes. I mean, it's pretty common when the coach yells "RUN HOME!" they look for a parent and ask "where is home? can we go to McDonalds first?" Will my child enjoy it? We sure hope so! They'll make friends, they'll play in the dirt when they're supposed to be covering 2nd base, they'll pick their nose in the outfield, and they'll have the biggest smile when they hit that ball off of the tee and run in the general direction of first base (hopefully). But if we're being honest, they may have a meltdown at second base because they got out... toddlers seem to have very strong emotions, you know. But ultimately, our goal is for the kiddos to have a great season. Where can I sign my child up? You can sign up in person at The View, or online at https://bit.ly/GVPR_YouthSports

We've got good news and bad news. Bad news first: We won't be able to host our annual Easter Egg Hunt due to the current Jackson County restrictions. HOWEVER, we do have good news! We're bringing the egg hunt to you. Our team will be "egging" houses this year! Registration for our House Hop Egg Drop is $5 per child and will open on Monday, March 1st; slots will be limited to a certain number of houses per day (we're a small department with limited staff). This is open to GRANDVIEW RESIDENTS ONLY - we, unfortunately, cannot deliver eggs to homes outside of the 64030 area code. So help us spread the word to our community so we can fill up all our slots to bring the hunt to your home this year!

Another late morning at The View tomorrow (Wednesday, February 10th, 2021). We're supposed to get some more snow, so please be careful out there as the temperatures aren't helping road conditions.

Basketball season is coming to a close this week. It's looked a lot different this year with COVID-19 restrictions and mandates, but we appreciate our teams adapting and making the best of the season!

FYI - We are experiencing arctic temperatures in the metropolitan area and highway conditions remain very poor. For the safety of staff, members, and guests, we will have a delayed opening of 10am tomorrow (Tuesday, February 9th, 2021) in order to give enough time for everyone to safely travel to work. We appreciate your understanding. Please stay warm and safe out there.
