We are certainly lucky to have great officers in this department. Officer Dunnell-Hayes is well deserved of the recognition she recently received. We are thankful for her and for the wonderful community support that we receive from you. #BeSafeGrainValley

Last evening's Board of Aldermen meeting included a special mayoral proclamation for HERO, Mary Hieronymus, Grain Valley. Mary saved the life of 9 month old, Fa...e Johnson, who was choking on a French fry in the back of her car. Her mom, Michelle Johnson and grandma, Crystal Johnson, Oak Grove, were attempting to dislodge the object after pulling over near Sonic when Mary was driving by. She noticed signs of distress and immediately rushed to assist. She performed the Heimlich maneuver, which dislodged the obstruction from Faye's blocked airway. Sgt. Shannon Carr responded to the scene, which took place on October 21st. She dispatched EMS who assessed the baby and released her mother. THANK YOU Ms. Hieronymus for your act of heroism. #GVHERO #GVstrong Ms. Hieronymous and her husband, Timothy, as well as Fae with her parents, Michelle and Mack Johnson and grandparents, Matthew and Crystal Johnson were in attendance. Mayor Chuck Johnston ordered the proclamation, which was presented by Mayor Pro Tem Shea Bass. WE NEED YOUR HELP! The City has applied for grant funds from Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) to improve traffic flow, safety and infrastructure along Eagles... Parkway in front of Grain Valley High School and Sni A Bar Elementary. Other municipalities have also applied for the funds, so it is important that MARC hears from those who will be impacted by these improvements. It takes only a few minutes to submit comments at the following link: https://bit.ly/3nNZoOc. (scroll to the bottom of the page for public comments section). Public comments must be submitted by 5:00 pm tomorrow, October 14th. photo cred: Grain Valley Schools
