This is sad news for all of those Medicare Beneficiaries that are waiting for MORX to come back. It made it through the Senate but not the floor of the House. MORX would pay half of the co-pay for each drug for those who qualify for assistance. For a year, folks have to qualify for Medicaid in order to get the assistance program. We were really hoping this would be back by Aug 28th. Now, we will have to wait and see if we get it back next year. ....... SB 563, a bill that wou...ld have removed the requirement of dual eligibility for recipients of MORx Prescription Drug Assistance payments was passed by the Missouri Senate, but failed to be brought to the floor of the Missouri House for final approval by the House Rules-Oversight Committee. The failure of the legislature to pass this important bill means that individuals who need prescription medicine assistance must continue to demonstrate eligibility under both Medicare and Medicaid guidelines. This restriction affects nearly 60,000 Missouri seniors and reduces the availability of important prescription medications to individuals who may be in most need. This bill sought to reverse the dual eligibility law passed by last year’s legislature. See more

Hey Medicare Friends! Good news! MO Rx is Awaiting Action in the House Last week, the Missouri Senate passed Senate Bill 563, sponsored by Senator David Sater (R-Cassville) on to the House SB 563 would restore MO Rx services to the over 60,000 Missourians who lost prescription drug coverage due to cuts made by the General Assembly last session. MO Rx provides assistance with out-of-pocket costs for low-income enrollees in Medicare Part D.... The program would still need to be fully funded in the Missouri State Budget, but without passage of legislation similar to SB 563, restoration of services would be impossible. Contact Your Representatives NOW and urge them to support restoration of MO Rx.
