In the past three days, Wings of Rescue has had the privilege of flying 306 at-risk shelter pets (258 dogs, 48 cats) from Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, Florida and ...Hobbs New Mexico to safety and delivered 3,271 pounds of pet food and Veterinary supplies. So far this year we have flown 8,930 at-risk shelter pets from disasters and overcrowded shelters to safe havens. Pup of the Week goes to the SWEETEST girls I’ve ever known (I may be biased) Mavis and Pickles These girls hold a very special place in my heart! I was in Vet Tech school with Mavis’ mom when she saved her. And then almost 2 years later Pickles showed up at our clinic with no owner or any information and @maddydemarco didn’t even give it a second thought and took her home to her sister this is mavis and pickles! ... mavis is a 4 year old pitty mix and pickles is a 2 year old lab mix! mavis came into our lives first back when i was in vet tech school. she was brought in as a stray. i cared for her while in school and it was when i couldn’t stop thinking about her that i knew i had to adopt her! she’s been stealing my heart since the day i brought her home and will always be my baby girl pickles came into our lives unexpectedly and we haven’t been able to imagine life without her since! she was brought into the animal clinic i work at as a stray- no collar or microchip. she was taken to the shelter in case a potential owner was looking for her. i called the shelter everyday to check in on her and get an update and after 1 week i was finally able to adopt her and bring her home! she’s shown us everyday that she was meant to be with us by being the perfect addition to our family! our girls are our BABIES and we love them with our whole hearts! #pupoftheweek #dogsofinstagram #drinkcoffeesaveanimals
