These positions are for college-age men looking to serve the Lord this summer in a front-lines, life-on-life ministry setting. Interns are given opportunity to participate in all aspects of camp ministry. A sincere love for Jesus and a desire to pour into the lives of our teen staff and our campers are the essentials for these roles.... If you’ve spent any time at God’s Mountain, you’ve been impacted by the service and ministry of Conrad Starr. On January 5th, 2021, Conrad went home to be with Jesus. It was his birthdaywhat an incredible gift for him! Please join us in praying for Conrad’s wife Nancy, their children and grandchildren, and the many friends whose lives Conrad touched. Conrad first came to camp many years ago. While he was here the gym at camp caught fire and Conrad felt that the Lord was call...ing him to stay and rebuild it. From that point on, any time Conrad was at camp, he was building something. He headed up the entire construction of both lodge buildings, the expansion to the camp kitchen, the pavilion, the drink counter in the dining hall, and so much more. Many thousands of children and adults have been blessed by his service, even if they never met him. Conrad served in many places, but his legacy at God’s Mountain is immense! Conrad always considered his work here to be an investment in eternity. The conversations, times of fellowship, moments of laughter and encounters with Jesus that happened in and around the things Conrad built here were his sole motivation in working so hard. He made time every year to be at camp for two weeks in March for our Spring Break trips. He headed up and directed projects for dozens of high school and college students, somehow managing many projects at once, always being eager to teach someone how to do something, and tirelessly willing to be a part of the work. Conrad was an incredibly skilled laborer, but he never felt he was above getting his hands dirty or doing any kind of job. The fruits of Conrad’s labor here will continue for as long as this place exists and will echo in eternity. Conrad was an incredible example of truly laying up treasure in heaven. We grieve, certainly, for our friend, his family, and all who loved him. We also rejoice in thankfulness for having known him, gratitude to have served alongside him, confident hope that his service here bears fruit for eternity, and joy that he is free of pain and sorrow, in the presence of his Savior who he served so very well.
