Gladstone Animal Shelter

The puppies are all gone and now we have the original 7 plus 2! The Quirky 9 is what we are calling them haha! We have a shy one (but she smiles when she is happy), some exuberant ones, some that are super energetic, and some that are couch potatoes. We do have some that need to be only dog homes, and some that will thrive with playmates. All do require a fenced in yard, and a couple do require supervision while outside. But that's only because they want nothing more than to play with someone! Come meet our Quirky 9 and find the love of your pet life today!

Update: Jack and Jake have been adopted. Hi, our names are Jane, Jack and Jake. We are 9 week old siblings. We were surrendered to the shelter. Our human momma wanted to make sure we found a great family. We are super loving and sweet. We go up for adoption on Monday May 3rd, 2021. Update: Bubba has been adopted!! Hi my name is Bubba!! I am an 8 week old male domestic short hair cat. I was surrendered to the shelter with my 2 other brothers. Hi my name is Chance(ID#21564). I am an intact male 1 year old American Bulldog/Pointer mix. I was found in the 500 block of NE Maple Dr. in Oakview, MO by Oakview PD. My owner hasn’t came forward and they couldn’t house me overnight. I will be here at the Gladstone Animal Shelter till my owner comes forward. If not, I go up for adoption on April 19, 2021.

Hey guys - It's Oreo again. Unfortunately I got returned. Turns out that I am not a huge fan of other dogs. They make me nervous. So I'd really like to find a home that I don't have to go to dog parks and play. I just want to play at home with you!! The Vet says I'm healthy and can go home any time! Update: Theodore & Roosevelt have been adopted together. Their new names are Cash & Tango. Hi our names are Theodore and Roosevelt (ID#s 21581 & 21582). We are 8 week old intact males. We were found last night huddled up on this nice couples porch in the 6000 block of NE Bircain Place (Creeks of Gladstone Apartment complex). They took us in, fed us, cleaned us up, and brought us to the shelter to stay safe. If you know who our owners are, please them we are at the Gladstone Animal Shelter. If not, we go up for adoption on April 30th, 2021.

Update: Elsa has been adopted and they are keeping her name. Hi my name is Elsa(ID#21553). I am a 3 year old, female domestic short hair cat. I was found running around the shelter property on Saturday. ACO Supervisor Gillespie was able to get a hold of me. I have no collar on and not microchipped. My owner got to many barking complaints to the apartment manger and my mom couldn’t lose her house so she brought me here hoping I can find a forever home. That doesn’t mind me barking. Nova is up for adoption through Maple Woods Veterinary Technology program. This super sweet and sassy girl is just looking for her forever home before Christmas. All she wants for Christmas is a soft, warm couch and people to snuggle up with. Nova is a Husky, so she would do best in a home with no cats. What better way to spread Christmas cheer than helping 3 amazing kitties find their special homes. They helped future Vet Techs in honing their skills at Maple Woods Veterinary Technology program. They have helped others, now let's help them. They desperately need/want/deserve their forever homes so they don't have to return to the shelter. Lets find these precious felines good homes!! Update: Polly has been adopted!! Hey guys! My name is Polly and I had a home before. But the older cats were beating me up, so when I got big enough to not have to take it they decided to find me a new home. They named me Pollyanna because I'm unique! I'm a polydactyl! I have multiple toes on every foot (just like Ernest Hemingways cats! So I'm ALMOST famous!) I've had some big changes so I'm a little freaked out right now. But I'd love to go to a new home that I don't have to share with other cats. I have lived with dogs and did fine with them. I'm only 7 months old - so I have a lot to learn still!! Come see me, and if I act scared at first don't hold it against me. Its just because I had never left my house before now.

Please Share Hi my name is Hershey(ID#21375) I am a 12 week old intact male Doberman Pinscher mix. I was found last night at 6819 N. Broadway St.(Broadway Ridge Apartments). A very nice person got a hold of me, saw I was injured and called for the Police Department to come save me. A very nice Police Officer came out, picked me up, brought me to the shelter and paged in Animal Control to come assist with my injures. ACO Smith took me to ER clinic and they got me all stitched up. I have a collar and harness on, but no tags and I’m not microchipped. If you know who my owners are please tell them I am at the Gladstone Animal Shelter. I will not go up for adoption until I’m released from veterinarian care. Which is at least 2 weeks until I get my stitches out.

Update: Marvin has been adopted!! I’m a good boy!! I'm Marvin! I have soooooooo much energy that I have a hard time focusing it. I was given to the peoples here because my old mom said that I play too rough. But I'm a rough and tumble kind of guy!! Unfortunately my old little brother was TOO little to be able to play with me and I accidentally drug him around by his coat. I just thought we were playing! Thats why the nice peoples here said I have to go to a home with big kids over 12 years old. I'm still a baby myself at only 10 months. But I'm the most handsomest Pit mix that is already neutered. I just want someone who can play and wrestle with me and will love me forever!

I was picked up running loose today by a Police Officer in the 2400 block of NE 59th Terr. I have a collar on but no tags and not microchipped. The finder kept me for a few days till she turned me over to an Officer, unknown of where I was found. I am a super sweet girl. Once I trust you I cuddle up in your lap.
