Throw back to the Woodstock of food truck events. This was Food Truck Fest in the Old Crestwood Mall before they demoed it in 2016. We were completely overwhelmed and sold 500 sandwiches in 2 hours. It was NUTS. It was our old manager @jattm0nes first day on the truck... he was bathed in fire. #tbt #stl

I have never worked in an office, but if I did I feel like I would be very excited to get a boxed lunch with a sandwich, cookie and salad in it. I would talk about it at the water cooler with all my office friends. Not sure if water coolers are still a thing.

Here’s an old black and white of Steve Gioia (2nd Generation Owner) making hot salami. Where he is standing (Back room of Gioia’s) is the same place I stand when I tie the hot salami. What is cool is that no matter how crazy life gets I have to stop everything and make hot salami in the same room using the same process as the 4 generations before me. A great man passed away on Christmas Eve. Armando owned and operated @volpifoods for 44 years. If there was a man that I strived to be like it was Armando. Since I was just a kid picking up Volpi for Gioia’s he would sit and chat with me for hours. As I matured, he started giving me sound advice about how to run a business focused on quality, heritage and people. Armando was a great man and his legacy lives on through his wonderful Family and business that brings so much joy to so many every day. RIP Armando. you will be missed.
