Hope you all can make it!! Getting together to promote a healthy lifestyle keeps Gina's mission going and keeps her memory alive

One year ago today Gina received the devastating news that she had pancreatic cancer. 221 days later, she was gone... Gina is missed everyday. I miss her spunky personality, her zest for life, her incredible enthusiasm & strength. I miss watching her motivate everyone around her. I miss her laugh, I miss our friendship. There is a group of us on a mission to keep Gina's memory alive! We are wanting to pull all resources together to host a fitness event in the Spring. We are ...in need of instructors for this 2 hour event. It is not limited to Zumba only, Gina loved all types of exercise. Pound, Yoga, Zumba-Strong, Etc. All Are Welcome! The money we raise will go to the Gina Marie Stephens scholarship fund that has been established at Missouri S&T. Gina chose this school for the scholarship. It was her wish to help other woman in technology gain their degree. This is where Gina received her bachelors degree in computer science. Please message Geri, Terri, or Carla if you can help with this fundraiser! *Also, in September, we will be participating again in the Purple Stride walk to end pancreatic cancer. To All: Thank you for your support to Union Zumba and to Gina all of these years and for your prayers through her illness. As we struggle with the loss of our dear teacher, motivator and friend; we are also working to keep her memory and good works alive. Because of this, we are renaming this page G.I.N.A. (Giving, Inspiring, Networking, Action). On this page, you'll learn about local charitable events, including those that we'll be doing throughout the year. Thank you to our wonderful instructor Emily and to everyone else for coming out on Thanksgiving morning. If you had previously turned off your notifications, we encourage you to turn them back on. We may be a little slow to start as we feel our way through this but we'll get better. There are few things as rewarding as helping your local community, dancing for a cause, making new friends, and doing what you can to take action for those who can't. All things we learned from Gina.
