Gateway Youth Aeronautical Foundation Description The Gateway Youth Aeronautical Foundation (GYAF) was incorporated as a Missouri Nonprofit Corporation officially on December 3, 2019, and has received IRS tax-exempt status confirmation. The Gateway Youth Aeronautical Foundation has this mission: Spark youth interest in pursuing opportunities in the aviation field. The goal is to be that one event experience that proves to be pivotal in changing a youth’s life forever. We w...ill also be a mentor and design a roadmap for career goal achievement. This mission will be made possible through the financial generosity of sponsors and donors so that individual cost is never a prerequisite for youth to participate in activities provided by GYAF. GYAF is an outgrowth of the original Little Pilots, LLC founded in 2002 as a mobile F-4 Phantom jet cockpit photo booth. Since that time, over 50,000 guests, ranging from toddlers to a 98 year old B-17 pilot from WWII, have visited the cockpit exhibit at events around the Midwest. In 2020, GYAF will work with many different organizations and STEM coordinators to inspire youth within existing and new events and programs. GYAF currently provides the mobile U.S. Air Force F-4 Phantom cockpit exhibit available for use in STEM and educational programs. As a foundation, GYAF raises funds for scholarships to be used for discovery flights, flight training and aviation-related educational opportunities. The GYAF also provides aviation education materials and referrals to programs provided by our partner organizations.
