Catie Salkil went over the Armor of God for her Sunday school lesson. She read from Ephesians 6:10-17 and explained the importance of each piece and how we must put on our armor every day. First, there is the belt of truth. The belt helps to hold everything together. We must have the belt or the rest of the armor won't work. The shield of faith helps to protect us from the devil's schemes in our lives. The helmet of salvation helps to keep our mind clean. The breastplate of righteousness protects our heart and holiness. And we get one weapon, the sword which is our Bible. When we put on the armor, we are able to defend ourselves against our spiritual battles and live for God.

Wyatt Salkil taught on Luke 2:1-20. He explained how we celebrate Jesus' birth on Christmas. We need to focus on the meaning behind the holiday and not just about the toys. An important aspect for us to remember. Great job Wyatt!

Ok, I'm going to try to catch up on my Facebook posting. Nathan Lansdown taught Sunday school after Mahalah. He told us the story of the 10 virgins found in Matthew 25:1-13. We need to be ready for the coming of Christ. If we aren't, then we will be as the foolish virgins who missed the coming of the bridegroom. We must be as the wise virgins and ready ourselves for the coming of Christ because no man knows the day or the hour (Ecclesiastes 9:12)

Mahalah was the next to bring the message to the youth. She shared with us how during the Christmas season we sometimes become selfish. She shared with us Genesis 13:1-13 to explain it to us. Cain chose the plentiful land but the people there didn't believe in God and he had a hard time there. Abram did good where he was at even though it was bad land. Then Cain was taken prisoner and Abram went to go save him. So even though your presents might not have been as great as you wanted them to be, remember the power of yourself is to rise above oneself. Great job Mahalah!
