Cherokee Forge 29.05.2021

I am very sorry to have been so long in posting this. I have had a few minor health issues that forced me to stay away from the forge. I had several requests for projects and unfortunately had to say no. I thank those who chose me to do their work and apologize for being unable to do so. I do hope to be back at the anvil within a month and beating some steel into submission. I will be posting items and accepting requests then. Thanks to all and GOD Bless.

My first Damascus blade with curly Maple handle. The guard was requested by the customer. Fun little project.

Another version of Dr. Sharp’s stethoscope. This was modeled after the scope he used in the 70s. The wall sconce is nice for the size of the piece. $65.00

I saw these Cloak Pins on Facebook and thought they were nice and thought I would give them a try. The lovely young lady modeling is my Great Niece Chloe. Her beauty can mask the roughness of the pin.

The second knife I have made and was made for a gift. The blade has been aged and the smithing and hammer marks are left to add to the aged look. I love that look. If you want to see examples of true artisan work in blades and early weapons, go to CASEY ARMS. Daniel CASEY is an amazing talent.

Tried something new today. I have never made spurs and I’m not sure these qualify or not. I would guess the boys in Texas will not view me as a threat! MERRY CHRISTMAS!

These Log Cabin Hooks were requested by a very dear friend. They have a actual Log Cabin which dated back to 1830s. I am honored they wanted something from me to place in the cabin which was dismantled and moved, then re-erected. The cabin is simply amazing. If you are ever in the Fulton, Mo. area, go by and visit The Rock Garden Antique Barn and see some of the finest antiques you will ever find! And you can see the Log Cabin which sets on the same property. I assure you, you won’t be disappointed.

Log Cabin Hooks. These are heat treated to allow the spike to be driven directly into the wood.
