We picked up our Dexter cow from "The Butcher Block" in Millard a few days ago. She wasn't real heavy hanging but that means she didn't cost alot to butcher. THAT'S WHY WE HAVE DEXTERS. The meat you ask???? She was grass fed only. Drug free and OMG is she DELICIOUS!!!! I finished the hay this morning. Already feeding hay. We are trying to keep our herd but if we don't get some rain and keep the pasture growing we may have to sell out like so many around us have done.

See that cow in the background? She is my lesbian troublemaking Dexter. She wouldn't let the bull breed her or the other cows. She would search the fence to find weak spots and force her way through and call the other cows to follow her. Well....NO MORE!!! She was loaded and taken to the butchers today. The herd is now calmer. Let's hope they didn't pick up her bad habits. Thank you goes to Virgil Stewart for helping load and unload and Tom Bennett for loaning his trailer.

After years of trying to keep the orchard alive and not giving up. It's finally producing some apples this year. Two different trees finally decided to produce. And a small handful of blueberries decided to grow. FINALLY!!!!
