Evo is a 3-year-old Pitbull mix that weighs 48 pounds. He is a friendly little guy and plays well with other dogs (we always recommend a meet and greet with any... current dogs you have anyways). Evo was surrendered to the shelter by his owner who was moving and couldn’t take him. Unfortunately for Evo he spent most of his time outside on a chain but he has put his past behind him and is excited for a brighter future. Evo is looking for a new family that has plenty of time for walks and play! He is very food motivated and ready to learn. This boy has a big heart and will be worth the effort! Evo can’t wait to finally get a chance to snuggle up on a warm couch! For the past several weeks Evo has been living at a local facility called Fantastic Fidos; learning how to be a more well behaved dog and spending lots of time socializing with other dogs as well. The trainers at Fantastic Fidos say Evo is doing very well and is ready for adoption NOW! You read that right! Our quirky Kirby was adopted on Wednesday! Good luck with your new families Kirby, Abelardo and BB happy trails!

Who remembers our grumpy faced cat, Embry? After 4 months and 4 days of life at the shelter she was adopted just about a month ago. Turns out - all this gal needed to turn that frown upside down was a loving place to call home! Her adopter says she has adjusted perfectly to life in their home and has even made friends with their other cat already.... Updates like this are what keep us going! :)

Our friends at New Nodaway Humane Society have several dogs who need doggie dates on Saturday! Visit their Facebook page for more on how you can participate. This program gave us tons of inspiration for our own Doggie Day Out!

Little miss Petal is a 2 month old kitten of ours who was raised in a foster home and is now fully vetted and located at our local Petsmart where she is awaiting her forever home! Petsmart has the capability to complete her adoption so you can head out and see her during their open business hours! We recommend calling in advance to check and see if Petal is still available. She just got there this evening and won’t last long!

This photo album is for the cats and kittens at the animal shelter. Please check the availability date for each cat. Many are brought into the shelter as strays and they're on "stray hold" for 6 business days. There are separate albums for the felines at Petco and Petsmart. You must now submit an application for adoption either online or at the animal shelter. Applications can be submitted before an animal is available for adoption.
